Wife dressing sexy.

Mrs loves to dress really naughty when going out.

See through tops and short skirts.

What is the general view on when people are too old to do this?

When you feel too old.

I tend to tone it down a little now. I won't wear short skirts and a low top at the same time when I go out and I will only wear a short skirt with boots.

It *shouldn't* matter but people judge.

When it comes to what I wear at home it's a different matter. Anything goes

I am not quite ready yet!

Luckily time and some hard work has kept me in ok shape.

I love people looking, and so does hubby!!

You're much younger than me .

I say as long as you're comfortable keep wearing what you want to wear

Even then you could request to be dressed in your favourite mini skirt for your final journey

So when I'm 85 if I get on the bus in a mini skirt and see through top with no bra? Nobody will stare or assume I'm in the early stages of dementia?

Let ‘em stare, you’ll have forgotten by the time you get off the bus anyway, or where you were going in the first place.

La la land

We judge ourselves with the same eyes we judge others. I don't think it's necessarily that we worry about what others think, we're worrying about what we think about ourselves.

very true

My dad got off the bus once to find a naked man standing at the bus stop. The police arrived in short order and took him back to hospital.

I do think society will judge a woman who dresses provocatively at any age and the judgement gets harsher the older you get.

I'm wearing an outfit today I wouldn't dream of wearing outside of the house or garden.

I'm wearing a very low top, tight, short shorts and bare feet. Something you'd expect to see on a much younger woman than I. Personally I think I look great, Mr N thinks so too. I still wouldn't wear it out because I wouldn't feel comfortable. I would wear these clothes on holiday though.

I don't know how I feel about it really because I strongly believe that we should wear exactly what we want and it doesn't matter what other people think. Then I take into at what other people *might* think .

I do think we care what others think if us. And what they will assume of us when we wear xyz. It's silly in a way but it's human nature I think, we're pack animals in so many ways

Because with age, I think, comes wisdom that people care less than you assume

And with retirement you lose the fear of reputation tied to career

This has made me think actually.

In general I don't really care what people think or say about my personality or looks but the way I was brought up has made me quite conscious of how I dress. Even Mr N would tell me that I couldn't wear a particular outfit to visit my parents and he'd have me walking around in next to nothing

I believe that the older generation can be as sexy as a nubile 20 year old. Old gal by me turns many a head in the pub, dress not to short , cleavage plentiful but not in your face. Hair always neat and tidy, and heels and lips to match bright red . My age looks twenty years younger, mind you make up less might be different. She is a becon of fun in the room , good on her. Her husband is always a busy man lol fending of others.

Haha I definitely got that, I'm definitely the odd one out when I go out with my family. They're more jeans and a top kind of people. I never wear jeans except for football practice with the boys.

Got asked in work this week where I get my clothes from. And someone said you never wear trousers. And another colleague said she did once, when it was snowing. Which is true, was wearing hiking shoes the lot just in case I had to walk home. I just like looking different to everyone else.

In my opinion anyone can wear what they want in the right situation.

I wouldn't have my arse in knickers or a thong, or my nipples showing anywhere but in the bedroom.

I believe we shouldn't show nipples in public, regardless of age.

If the women have the legs for short skirts then I’d say go for it

The low cut top is either inviting men to ogle her or maybe she’s getting at her partner

But the "if they have the legs for it", is a different kind of judgement in itself though. Everyone judges in some form or another.

Op what do you think in general? Is the acceptability of sexy dressing such as you describe less to do with age and more with how you look?

I'm probably considered very conservative in my dress sense, in that I don't wear anything 'revealing '.

It does sadden me a little that being considered dressed sexy ( for a woman) usually involves showing either legs or cleavage

I tend to agree. I think people can look sexy without wearing revealing clothes.
