It's a false equivalence really as even within the men's game there's no parity with regard to wages.

It's unfortunate that there's so few examples where this is the other way round that aren't either sexual or where the female's gets the better pay but is reliant on looks to do so (porn or modelling are the immediate examples that spring to mind).

I'm definitely not coming at this from a 'well in that case male models should be paid the same as female ones' as that's not what this is about. Some players (both male and female) are 'worth' more to a team so they get higher pay.

An isolated instance where this could be addressed though is for payment from national FAs where match fees and expenses could and should be equal for playing for your country.

I would say that in an ideal world they should be that, but I think that it is a bit different in sport where the pay is generally based on revenue and also on skill and performance, the better you are the better the wage is

I would liken the situation to music artists, bands and performers earnings are based on the income they generate from their output and within a band not everyone earns the same based on writing as well as performance royalties so I can see why sports people are paid the way they are in terms of their ability to create revenue for who they play for, however, it would then make sense that they not have a wage, but have a percentage of the club income so their worth is more directly attributable. The difficulty for me is the inherent sexism in that female players not being allowed to play in the male team. You can argue all you like about them not being good enough, but I doubt the best female players aren’t as good as any of the male players in even the lowest ranked professional teams, but that’s not the issue, the issue is they are forbidden from playing, that’s where the sexism lies.

No. I don’t agree at all. It’s two different games totally. So is it sexist not having a male boxer fight a female boxer? Never gonna happen. Never should happen either.

To be fair "forbidden" or not they wouldn't get picked to play.

Brings you right back to the school yard of picking teams, and last to be picked, or at times in my case (and others) just not picked. Which then what would happen is the teams/management/men/whatever would be branded sexist for not picking a woman.

Thats utterly ridiculous. If you do away with gender categories then that will be the end of women competing at any level at all. That in fact, is the height of sexism and dressed as 'progressiveism'
