Not the 'reminder' kind but a documentation of what goes on in your day and elsewhere. I kept one age 15, 20-25 inclusive and since 2010 inclusive. It's interesting read specially the early ones. It also mentions world events.

I go through phases.

I mean to write one sentence a day minimum but I never do.

Fastidiously from age 11-24, came with a (useless!) lock and everything

Then again when pregnant - documented coming home from a prenatal class, switching the tv on and seeing the 2nd plane crashing into the twin towers…then when Iraq was invaded…so strange seeing it all written down as it happened

from my dad's left nut (Warwick)

I take a daily inventory of several questions of how may day has been, have I behaved in an appropriate manner, if not have i caused harm to others do I need to make prompt amends.

What have I done well.

Where have I fallen short.

What could I do in thr future in similar situation.

And a few others

No …….. I used to write poetry as a sort of journal, someone once found it all, read a poem that I’d written year’s previously, and a long time before we’d even met, and took it all very personally. What I’d written was never meant to be read and was so angry that they’d snooped!! …..Have thought about the journal thing, but remembering the reaction of my friend has always put me off

.

I started doing it again about three weeks ago after it was suggested to me. It's strangely relaxing and comforting to write now and I often find that my words end up reflecting how I really feel about life. I also like it as a little way of reminding myself of joy in my life.

Yes I have a journal. I use it almost everyday to note down positive and negative thoughts and feelings. It has helped immensely with my PTSD and anxiety

Great answers. Sometimes I think 'that event happened...wonder if I wrote it down?'. Usually yes. I've asked family members about diary/journal and they also keep one but never told me.
