All I took from it was a dig at obese people on welfare. Punching down is never a good look

I took a listen on YouTube speaks a lot of truth really but it won't change the set up of the system

It will tell a lot of people they are not alone in this cost of living we are all feeling it

"All I took from it was a dig at obese people on welfare. Punching down is never a good look"

Did you take that straight from a Guardian headline?

The reason I ask is he says so much more than that.

some people just can't hear the messages. Just like Jason Aldeans song. They only hear what they want to.

Actually I didn't, I googled the lyrics first, however I did notice the Guardian article afterwards.

I don't think many would have a problem with the other sentiments in the song, I largely agree with them. Which is why the dig about fat people on welfare sticks out like a sore thumb

I am a pharmacist I see it everyday. People screaming for insulin claiming welfare status. Yet I look in thier vehicles and see bottles fast food wrappers all unhealthy. Then they complain about paying 1 USD for a prescription. Sorry that shit is self inflicted.

the last verse reads like something Stephen Lynch discarded for not being edgy enough.

Well are a obese nation. It's the only thing you took away from the lyrics.

it's a interpretation. I understand your views on it. But I deal with the same thing he is complaining about every single day.
