I have been on and off this site for a good few years. I say I probably joined around 2014. Under a different name. Although I always was a single male on the profile it never seemed to hinder me that is until a few years ago. I met many good people on here and some great socials and fun times but now it is a very different case. Ghost accounts, people selling content, selling services, men claiming to be in a couple or female to name but a few.

I always know it’s far harder being a single male on here obviously but I am not getting the same vibe from this site that I used to.

I don’t really see these ghost accounts and people trying to sell me stuff. Maybe I am using it differently to others or I am better at filtering the junk out but it seems to be the same as it always has to me.

It’s not really changed although I remember the forums being very toxic.

Peoples perception about it change and that’s probably the reason.

Profiles which are not moaning from the off and with a good selection of pics fair much better - it’s how you sell yourself on here which makes all the difference to your experience in my opinion.

I've been here over 7 years and haven't noticed much difference in the site or the demographics.

I've changed my approach a few times over the years due to other people's drama but all in all I only use this site as a distraction and a hobby. It has never been a lifestyle choice for me so I'm happy to take my time when chatting or meeting.

For those reasons I've never once engaged with a fake profile or been catfished or had a no show.

I've learnt over the years to be more proactive, limit the Fab admin, and dodge the fakeness and daydreamers where possible... but it has become a more mainstream site than 10 years ago

Personally I find fab is way less easy to meet suitable people than say around 2013-17 for me anyway . I am a rarity looking for another rarity so I know it’s always going to be a slow grind .

Saying that I barely bother with it much these days in the same way I used to .

Definitely notice a huge difference between paying and non paying vs the level of interaction I get .

That's mainly down to me having the confidence to say yes to more things - new adventures, meeting people who I didn't think would be interested in me.

I've not really noticed the time wasters etc. The fakes. Even my inbox is filled with nice messages, very rarely a penis photo (which I do miss but hey ho). I'm very happy with my fab experience currently and looking forward to the coming months a lot.

I think things have gotten better for me over time, just down to actually going out to socials and events. And accepting that on the rare occasion I do get a message, they really do want to bang me... probably

I think it's everything and more. As a single male, always found it difficult, but after getting into the forums, attending an organised social, find it easier to chat to people and build up ability to chat and meet

There does seem to be more profiles where they are happy to take you offline and ask for money for services though!

It's completely different now to what it was when I joined. It used to be propper swingers on here looking for good sex without all the bullshit. Don't get me wrong there are still a lot of genuine people on here but there's also a lot of dreamers and attention seekers. You never saw people (mainly single ladies) putting on their status "can you fab my pictures" until the last couple of years. What the heck is that all about?

The more mainstream line above probably sums it up. Everyone knows the site now, more people are now open to no strings, or more openly open! So this site is feeding that need.

I think that's brought in more people looking for just sex than swinging.

People in general and on social media seem to have become a bit more toxic (that sounds a bit extreme but hopefully you get my gist), and so that is reflected in this site.

I've noticed changes, a slump if I'm honest.

I do though wonder if lockdown played a part in that.

There's definitely been a surge in fantasists, and a downfall in experienced swinger's, from my perspective.

I can't say I've come across any openly selling content, assuming you mean OF.

What has become more prevalent is the fake, time waster cries. "You won't drop your pants for me so you must be a fake or a time waster", "You don't have any pictures on you're profile you must be fake", "You won't join us for a 3sum - fake/timewaster"

Not angry post I know there are a lot of posts about - can't get any because of all the fakes and time wasters is as old as the sites themselves. Usually just pass them by like if a suspect.

Time to go now but one last question for the nay sayers

What actually is a fake? Is the occasional pretending to be a female? Why does it matter - never likely to meet them. Or is it embarrassment about being duped.

In the end are we not all guilty of some fakery, profiles, forums, chatrooms, in life? People liked to be liked
