And do you think they are happy or would be happy with who you’ve ended up with?

Eh my parents are low class narcissists, they don't ever cared about anything. Never introduced one girlfriend, never even dropped names. They don't ask, I don't tell.

They are definitely happy with who I ended up with. If my mum had chosen my partner I think I would have been very unhappy. It would probably have been someone religious, very traditional and from what she considered a 'good family'. I suspect she would have aimed for money too.

If I had a daughter, I would make her marry someone rich, too, who has to suck up to me and shower me in expensive gifts so I allow their marriage

My dad was always a tits man but I'm more of a booty guy. But I guess sometimes you just have to put on those big boy shoes and say fuck you dad, I'll like what I like!

I'm thinking of turning that story into a children's book one day.

Dad probably would've liked someone from the Upper Class, but I have me an original peasant instead

My mother? I wouldn't even care to think about her. I'd waste brain cells.

Dad seems to like Mr KC very much indeed. Most important in my mind, my Grandad liked Mr KC very much. His views did matter to me.

They definitely wanted/want me to marry a Jatt, Sikh girl. They don't have to be overly religious, but need to come from that background/culture. It's a bit stifling and would like them to just be happy with me finding someone without those permutations

They quite liked the 1st one but noticed they were changing, tried to warn me & I ignored them. Then I found out they cheated on me so now they want to poke needles in their eye & wish them a slow & painful death. But are polite to their face.

They adore T as he respects me, makes me so happy & brings out the best in me. He’s also the best fuck I’ve ever had

I was thinking about this laying in bed this morning.

My mum used to attend a women's prayer meeting at someone's house. We were some weird branch of Quaker. The husband led the group because women weren't allowed to speak in church or lead prayers or important man stuff . They had two kids, no telly and it was all very Victorian middle class. The kids were dressed like something out of Enid Blyton and were very quiet and according to my mum, playing snap until 7 pm when you'd hear them go upstairs, the tap running and then presumably these paragons of virtue went to bed. A very far cry from our noisy home full of children, some of the church members referred openly to us as a 'tribe'. That is the kind of life and husband my mum would have wanted for me in an ideal world.

The thing that made me laugh a lot was that the boy of that family attended the boys school next to mine and smoked, drank, swore and really rebelled.

My mum didn't care or have any opinion. She was too self centred in the end.

My dad hated my ex husband for many very valid reasons but ultimately he wanted me to be happy.

I think he would have liked whoever it was to be someone he could get on with and who was a good partner and father to my boys.

Equally I know he was proud of me going it alone.
