I had that happen this weekend at a club. Guy looks at me for a bit then goes, I think I know you from somewhere and I pointed to a room and said, yeah you fucked me whilst I ate out your wife right there.... oh his poor face! Then that smile when he did remember quickly offered a round 2 as an apology for not remembering straight away!

Tbf it had been like 18months and I now have a different hair colour/look etc.

A man approached me several years ago, called me by a name that only my friends use and I had absolutely no idea who he was. Even when he told me it took me an embarrassing amount of time before I remembered him. It had been thirty years but ...

If someone says that to me and I don’t recognise them then I am always honest and say “Sorry I don’t.”. If they are familiar in some way then I will mention that but I don’t ever try to bullshit my way out by saying I do recognise them. They will tell you quite soon who they are and how they know you. It always works out in the end.

I tell them that lots of medication has affected my memory (which is actually true) usually they say something that jogs the memory and I can recall, not always though

I hear this all the time, and it's true. I meet so many people, most of them just don't make a big impression on me, and a few years down the line, I won't remember you most likely.

"Hey, you don't remember me do you? We met in spain in a bar and we talked for hours."

"I don't know. Maybe"

"Oh cmon, we had such a good time, you gotta remember me?"

"What did we talk about?"

"I don't know any more. I just know we kicked back drinks and done some crazy shit like dancing on tables"

"Doesn't ring a bell. I do that a lot"

And they get really upset as if I don't want to talk to them or something. I just don't remember.

Other times I remember people, who forgot about me. It's normal and not everyone is interesting or unique.

I don't fear the question, but I like to be recognised (means I made a lasting impression on someone).
