I've always been interested in ancient mythology, Greek, roman, Norse, Chinese and Japanese. Many stories are thought to be related to extraterrestrial visitors such as the ones you find Hinduism, but what I find most interesting is the context of the stories which bare some philosophical truth, how we should live our lives, how boys and girls come of age and find their place in the world, stories that give inspiration.

It's also fascinating that all cultures that are worlds apart from each other all resemble the same structure and context in their story telling.

Personally I've always been interested in Greek mythology, their stories have always been rich in drama and theatrics.

There was a TV series ac while back depicting the famous greek myths but can't really remember the name as would be great to watch again if still available

Lived all my life surrounded by myths and legends. They are part of the landscape.

CS Lewis lived around here and it's where he based Narnia on.

It's why I tell people I live in a fantasy world.

.

I was obsessed with Greek mythology as a child - having a grandad who was a Classics professor meant I'd always have someone to waffle on about it with. Folklore was another key interest of mine.

I'm really enjoying the current literary trend of feminist retellings of various myths - it's making them more approachable for a new generation and a lovely reminder of my interest in mythology.

I have an interest in Arthurian mythology. I read Le Morte D'arthur years ago but this year I read Tennyson's Legend's Of King Arthur and a book of lesser known stories. I also have a book on the quest for the Holy Grail sat on my 'to read' shelf.

I've also read Neil Gaiman's book on Norse Mythology.
