I for one, has never asked anyone to be my girlfriend.

For me it's always been a natural progression with both of us knowing where we are without need it to be said.

So am I the only one that has/being there. Or do people need to be asked or told that they are boyfriend or girlfriend stages in there relationship

In the olden days when I was dating if you went on more than about three dates you were considered boyfriend and girlfriend. Now I understand that there's 'seeing' someone, 'in a relationship', 'Facebook official ' and many other ways of being together.

I wasn’t allowed near the Bunsen burners after I heated a set of spring loaded test tube holders in one and then clipped it to another kid’s earlobe, there was a bit of a hoo haaa over that.

Still, he never tried to steal my lunch token ever again

We just kinda became... think the first kiss and the consecutive days of being together said it all

.

With women it's never been discussed, it just kind of happens.

With men, they've always asked first 'so are we dating/are you my girlfriend now?'.

Now? I'd rather it wasn't said. They're just pretty words aren't they? I'd look more to the actions than what's being said. I'd prefer it that way.

I always ask. I at least have a conversation about what or where we are. Don’t go around calling me your boyfriend or talking about breaking up just because we dated

It must be a generational thing.

After taking a girl out to the ABC. Then off to the local Wimpy. She knows she has been treated right, so she must have a keeper

I wouldn't do that for any old girl

I’d be uncomfortable if someone assumed they were my boyfriend just because we’ve been dating.

If they’re going to assume they’re my boyfriend, I’m going to go ahead and assume we’re getting married and I’ll book a venue.

Wanna play romance chicken with me, then let’s play.

The problem with the youth of today is they care about consent

To be fair (and yes I do believe and practice consent to be important) consent by some (very small minority) has been take to such extremes that it's hard to know where such things stand when it comes to consent. It is a weird one.
