If you were having a girl's night, would you include trans women?

Good question. What if you don’t know any transwomen?

I’m not a girl or trans so I can’t really join in here.

However…

If I was having a boys night I’d still include Rex.

Yes for a normal fun night out, but I wouldn't involve them in our intimate conversations about menopause for instance, as that wouldn't be an inclusive conversation

Never done the whole "girls night" out thing as I have more male friends (non sexual) than female.

Also not sure Grumpy can pull off a dress very well, he'd make one bloody ugly woman!

Absolutely yes. I'm not sure why people wouldn't. A trans woman is a woman.

Can I ask what might appear as a stupid question ? Does a TV identify as a woman when dressed, or is the dressing part of a sexual kink for sex ?

No idea why it matters who goes to a night out. I know women who go out and one or two will often take their best man friends too. Perhaps I am missing something but it's not my night so whoever you imvute, enjoy

Both.

Neither.

Depends on the TV.

Generally, in my experience, identifying as a TV stops short of TS. I dont identify as a woman when dressed, but I don't really identify as a man either.

It's complicated and I don't really understand it all myself

I use fem pronouns when I'm dressed, or when I'm talking about Miss Jo

And you end up doing it in guy mode more often than not too.

Honestly?

I am not sure you can! Someone will choose to be offended.

You could say 'women', you could say 'those who identify as women'.

Sadly either option will get extremists from either end of the spectrum all sniffy. Mine field

I also think people in Pumpkin or my situation need to be careful not to muscle in on women's safe spaces (Be they cis or trans). We have no automatic right of access, invitations are nice but should not be expected

If I was organising a 'girls night', I would be inviting friends/family/work colleagues. If I knew someone well enough that I was aware they dressed sometimes, I think I would just have a conversation and work it out between ourselves.

Yes it's a very blurry area and easy to get things wrong.

But I do agree with Jennie that we should be mindful of not invading women's safe spaces.

As I said, although I use Fem pronouns when I'm dressed, I still identify as a guy.

Yes. I have a trans woman acquaintance who would be included on a girls' night out. At the pub we go to the toilet together.

We treat her like a woman, so other people do too.

My above comments relate to transvestites, which is the easy bit. Men who present fem.

.

TS is a different conversation. In my mind, someone genuinely identifying as a woman, and living their life accordingly is a woman.

But that's easy for me to say, I haven't the lived experience of growing up as a female in a male dominated world.
