The say you should test your smoke alarm once a month. I try but it's costing me a fortune in houses.

Try caravans - they tend to be cheaper!

I would have said flats but then you'd have a lot of pissed off neighbours bitching about your inability to safely make cheese on toast!!

Mine is tested every time a fry an egg. I hate it due to having tinnitus.

I can stop it just by pressing the button once and it stops

I have found a solution to this, put the smoke alarm on the upstairs you can still burn the toast but it wont set the smoke alarm off right away.
