Going to a group social tomorrow. Not a problem in itself, everyone loves Jennie!

The issue is that I am going in boy mode, and I am worried he wont live up to the expectations people will have of Jennie! You'd think it would be the other way round!

What do you feel before a social?

No matter whether you attend as Jennie or in “ boy mode “ … everyone who has the pleasure of meeting you for the person you are and if not more fool them.

Whilst I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting you in person, I’ve always enjoyed reading your thoughts and opinions in each and every post you post on the forum

I’m certain that once you meet everyone and fully relax, you will have a great time and all your fears and worries that you are currently experiencing will rapidly evaporate

Have a great time Jennie

A little but not as nervous as Leeds. The MLS had a group chat beforehand which helped a lot and also it had a load of forum folk that I was really excited to meet.

Jennie you'll be fine, people will be happy to see you there (probably)

I do empathise with your feelings though.

Doing socials in boy mode is something I worry about myself.

It breaks the illusion and it can be quite jarring seeing the person in boy mode for the first time.

But it is also a reality that people need to be prepared for.

Best of luck with it all, I've no doubt you'll be a hit.

You might be able to get dressed when you're there, could be an option maybe?

Jennie, you'll have a fantastic time. I normally feel a bit of a sensory overload in all honesty. Once I've managed to navigate that? Excited. A bit nervous. Mainly excited to see friends old and new alike. It depends on the social and the people attending. Right now I'm extremely excited about a few I have in the coming weeks for various reasons.

Have a brilliant time, lovely.

I've done it! I used to give a talk and demo at trans support groups where I would change from him to me right in front of everybody, including changing top, popping boob fillets in, putting on wig and doing make up. All without ever being indecent.

I did in fact once sit by the statue of Queen Victoria in Piccadilly Gardens in the very heart of Manchester, middle of summer, hundreds of people around, and do my quick change. The only person who noticed was a child looking wide eyed as I did my makeup

Travel in jeans and fancy tee, androgynous but that would look more femme when you add jewelry. Wear flats, take heels and essentials of makeup in a shoulder bag. Perhaps accessorize as you reach the venue. Pop chicken fillets into the bra you're already wearing under your tee, either before joining the group or even after you've introduced yourself (always an icebreaker to say "can you just hold that a moment love" and put a silicone boob into someone's hand ).

You'll probably even get volunteers from the ladies to help while you do your face... It's all a good laugh and a great way to make friends. Polly xxx
