Hi just bought a paddle board a don't know what to do or where to go, so thought I'd see if anyone does it on here or knows anywhere to go.

start by taking it out and inflating it- bit of a shit experience otherwise (assuming you're talking about the surfboard type doodahs and not a spanky type sex toy )

Unfortunately you are too far away from my area else could give you more specific information. Lakes or rivers or canals but you will need a license for most of them. usually boy £50 year Canal and River Trust or British Canoeing. Llanberis in Wales. Kayaked across the Dee from West Kirby to Talacre but not would recommend for a beginner

Cos you about £40 for the year and you can go mostly anywhere

Read the instructions and the pressure needed. Make sure you pump it to the recommended psi for that particular board, yes.. It might be hard at the end but it's important you don't underinflate it. I've seen people on boards where they their feet and board are in the water because they've not put enough air in.

Make sure you can swim (an obvious) and how you board/paddle work.

Ahh , those on banana boards . Yes it seems obvious , but so many don’t .

Inflate correctly !

It will make the paddling a much better experience.

Calm day, somewhere you know and are comfortable and a buoyancy aid ...som may people in the lakes not wearing them. Cold water shock is a thing and not worth the risk for and extra 20 to 30 for one!

Most of all enjoy it it's very therapeutic!

I got one last year was out on it all the time. However since it was publicised that my local water company decided to use my nearest river as a toilet I have not done it this year.
