I've read that fashions go round in circles so will shaving one's pubic hair ever go out of fashion and will we return to the hairy bushes of the 60's and 70's etc?

Not so, the French, Germans & Dutch all practice the smoothie way just as much as we do. Perhaps more so, at least that is our experience in the naturist world. More foreign smooth naturists per 100 than you see here at home in the Uk.

I think it will stay too.
