I agree e.g. I was for the expansion of Stansted airport which would have increased the the number of overflights but I'd be dead against a housing estate being built behind my house.

We bought a brand new house with fields behind us, planning aplication for houses in the fields, our neighbours have forgotten the fields our houses were built on.
