I’ve called the police twice in my lifetime, being a Scouser we’re taught from an early age not to trust the Bizzies and never be seen talking to them; all of my experiences growing up in Liverpool related to police are negative.

So when making both calls I genuinely had to think about it first but circumstances dictated!

Pure luck maybe, but both times Police were great, solved both issues and my interaction was only positive; appreciate others may have had significantly different experiences!

Randomly, one of my best friends is a serving armed response officer, we met in a bar watching football years ago and when chatting a few drinks later he mentioned his job; I suggested I hated said Bizzies and he agreed “90% of us are dickheads”; we’ve been friends since

Of course we would, same as we would phone the fire service or for an ambulance depending on the situation.

Unfortunately I call them frequently, but it's always for something, I'm not a timewaster or prank caller. But i don't have much faith

I actually had an annoying setting on my phone that meant I called 999 about 5 times in the space of 2 weeks. If you pressed the volume down button 3 times super quick it called them. Nightmares

Yes, I've called them in many occasion! Mostly when someone has been in danger/assaulted etc and I'm witnessing it. Anything else I'll report online. Mostly they're quite good at responding.

All my dealings with the police were if my own doing, they always treated me how I treated them...I'd have no problem calling then if needs be

A couple of years ago, we'd have said yes, but our experience with how they treated our son after a serious assault has left me wondering. The person who assaulted him later murdered a person with a knife, so the perpetrator clearly WAS as dangerous as we said he was and the judge in the murder trial commented on "missed opportunities". We had to solve our own crime before they would take him seriously, this someone who'd had their head stamped on.
