"Ok i'm feeling sorry for myself and im having a bit of a moan I feel like fooking shit and i don't know what to do with myself Just after xmas i joined fat camp (slimming world) to shed the extra pounds and to be honest doing quite well even if i do say so msyelf, ive lost 2 stone 1 pound in 6 weeks but last week for some fooking stupid reason i decided to quit smoking its been 7 days now and i havnt touched a fag, never realised how hard dieting and stopping smoking together would be, ive tried so hard to not pick at food to keep my hands busy and ive resisted any temptation to have a fag but ive got to be honest its really bloody getting to me now, im hungry, i want a fag and what pisses me off the most is this is all self inflected and right now im sat here wondering why the hell im doing this to myself and im seriously tossing up what im going to give in on first, the jaffa cakes that are screaming my name or the shop over the road with the fag counter Im trying to work out what to do for the best, right now i think going to bed for a week would be the ideal plan before i take someones head off Ok rant over, as you were " Firstly, well done on both counts *he says in a non patronising manner*. It does sound like your doing awesome. Doing both things at once is going to be much more difficult. But if you can do it this way, the rewards are bigger. Just think about when you reach your goals, you've done it the hard way, and there's no reason to go back because you've beat it. Keep up the good work! Brushing ya teeth works best cos it takes your mind off it for a couple of minutes, and keeps your hands busy. And nothing is going to taste nice after you've just brushed your teeth. Make some fruit juice ice cubes with pieces of chopped fruit in them, keep em in the freezer for when either craving strikes, and crunch away! | |||

I smoked 200 last month as opposed to 200 a week before.I would like to stop completely but I'm not gonna beat myself up over it. If i want a fag I'll have one. Its better than being cranky in my case. Not very helpful I know but well done with the diet" see thats how im feeling right now, is there any point to dieting and stopping smoking if its just going to make me feel down and cranky? I have a meet friday and im seriously thinking of canceling as we are meeting in a pub for a drink and i really dont think i can face going for a drink when i cant have a fag for me the two go hand in hand plus he smokes and im not sure im really to put msyelf in that situation just yet | |||

However, you have broke away from the fags, don't let them rule the rest of your life. Tell yourself your free from them. This is how its going to be now! No drinking & smoking together, you will have to do it some time, think how great your gonna feel if you go out and refrain, its the next step! You could also explain the situation and ask your meet to be respectful or shock horror even refrain Get yourself to the meet, it sounds like you deserve a reward & treat for yourself | |||

Good luck, keep strong " im on call till 5 so im stuck in the office, i find this is the hardest part of the day, im ok when im out and about with work and busy but sometimes i have to go on call which means im just sat in the office waiting for the phone to ring its quite boring and when your mind starts wondering Im doing my usual calls tomorrow so will be all over the place and busy all day, its not so bad then | |||

Along with peppers and celery" And to make this a damn site more appetizing, get some natural yoghurt, mix in a small crushed clove of garlic, black pepper & salt (you can add chives too if you have them), place on a couple of sheets of kitchen roll, in a sieve which has been placed over a bowl. Scrunch up the kitchen roll and place a jar of something on top to weight down. Leave overnight and hey presto - syn free cream cheese (tastes like boursion) Also nice with jacket potato & baked beans. | |||

" I'm not sure how SW works, but I know Naughtynymphos does around 30 miles a day on here bike (don't groan Naughty, I'm trying to help here). But that amount of exercise will burn a good few calories, has all that been taken into consideration with calorific defecit/intake etc? It could be a valid reason why your hungry, if most people don't suffer from hunger pangs doing the SW method | |||

" because i dont fill up on free foods between meals, i just eat my meals and i dont snack between, i have my breakfast at about 6am and its usually 2pm till i get lunch and i dont eat anything between that time and by 2 im starving, i know you can if you want but i want to loose the weight as fast as possible so i dont, i know they are free on the SW diet but they arnt free calorie wise so you will loose weight faster if you dont eat them, i do follow the diet but i eat the minimum allowed, i did say on my opening post it was self inflicted lol | |||

When we refrain from eating, especially for long durations, our bodies go into starvation mode. What happens is that the body then prepares itself for oncoming fasting. The way it does this is by storing body fat. Your actually best grazing on around six meals per day divided by the amount of calories you are recommended to consume daily in accordance with your weight loss plan. I'm sure you'd find it more beneficial to have those healthy small meals in that way. And of course you'd be less hungry as an added bonus | |||

You're told in the very beginning to give up the way you think about how diets work when you start SW as the science works even though it shouldn't. Doing what you're doing is a recipe for failure. Part of the reason it works is you're not actually depriving yourself of anything. If you don't even eat your free food, do you eat any syns? You should aim to have at least 10 syns a day - it's actively encouraged so you don't fall off the wagon (as it looks like you're about to). If you're not going to follow the diet properly, it won't work is all I can say. | |||

" why am i not following the diet properly? theres nothing in the diet that says you have to eat free foods between meals its just an option thats there if you need it?? All that they say is you must eat at least 3 meals a day a third of which must be from each food group and between 10 and 15 syns which i do so how am i not following the diet properly? | |||
