Can men and women just be friends?

Or does one of them always want a little more?

To answer the op, I think there’s truth in that men tend to be friends with women that they find attractive. The sex doesn’t get in the way but I think feelings do.

"Can men and women just be friends?

Yes they can.

It’s perfectly possible for men and women to be friends and have sex, and still be friends.

The belief that sex precludes friendship is an inherently monogamous thought process

I think... it depends on how the relationship starts.

If there are clear boundaries from the beginning and you enjoy each other's company and thoughts, then yes.

If things get a little murkier, then... well most possibly not.

I think if a woman you're dating ever asks you that question you're probably fucked.

If you just want to have sex with someone that doesn’t get in the way of friendship. If you secretly wish they were your partner, I think that gets in the way.

Oh I get ya.

I’m not even really asking if it’s going to screw the friendship up or not - just more simply dya think there’s make/female platonic friendships out there where neither party would even want to - or dies someone always want to have more than the platonic?

I guess so yes ofc you can be friends with any gender. But I think like in WHMS, you can be platonic friends for years and then one day suddenly want more.

Well they don't want to shag me, if that's what you mean

A couple are in relationships, so we are just genuine friends.

I could remain close to someone if they were carrying a torch for me, as I think that'd be cruel. Xx

Hello little star, it's good to read your threads again.

Yes, I think so. Actually, I know it's very possible - I have two male friends I've known since my first bright eyed, bushy day in halls. We've never entertained the thought of more, never wanted more. I love them to bits.

Maybe I'm a bit naive but I don't think my male friends on here or elsewhere want "more" from me. I'm happy with the friendship as is.

OK I'm going to throw something strange into the mix and I don't know if only me .but i know some increadable sex women here who I'm friends who would have sex with me as they can detach and have sex with .but I can't have sex with them because I see the as amazing sexy women and love seeing them naked .but I can't bring myself to have sex with them .through out my life I've turned down sex with women who have offered it to me .yet I can have sex with other women no problem if I've made a connection with and they want me to teach them.its just these other women that I see as friends that I can't .

I have have ladies who are real friends. Often they were the wives of male friends who are, as a consequence, off limits for sex but there is a mutual liking there. I also have ex-lovers who are, after very many years, still friends, so it is possible.

I would say yes, and I have female friends (often through work).

I would also say that a lot of men like to try it on with anything that moves, which can complicate matters. If nothing more than being annoying.
