"Hi all I was semi-diagnosed with PCOS about 5 years ago and I got my official diagnosis last month (though, of course, I’ve had this whole time, it’s just had a name) I’ve started metformin today because it’s my hormones that are the issue I want to lose some weight but every time I try I always seem to take 1 step forward and 2 steps back Anyone else with PCOS have any dieting tips? I’ve been researching so much and there’s so much information it’s overwhelming So some first-hand experience would be great ! " I have just been diagnosed with pcos and I have just lost 3 1/2 stone. I downloaded a calorie counter- and started doing gentle exercise starting with walking workouts on YouTube. I also have been diagnosed with spinal arthritis so have had to take the working out gently. I still eat things I want I just make sure I am in a calorie deficit. Good luck xxx

"I didn't know they prescribe metformin for pcos. I thought it was a diabetes ðrug." Pcos causes insulin resistance so your body produces more to balance the lack of insulin absorption and then the body produces more testosterone because if that, its a never ending cycle. the metformin help keep all of it balanced and regulate those levels. Yes it's a diabetes drug but it has been found to help pcos. It's like other meds that are used for headaches/pain etc that aren't actually for that purpose it's just been found to help Tinder
