Take myself to the coast. Sit near the waters edge and have a good cry. The sound if the sea always seems to calm and settle me x

Maybe try getting out for a walk that always helps clear my head, if your up to it walk up a big hill that you think you’d find hard, it’ll help give a sense of achievement and the exercise is always good for releasing the endorphins.

Manchester (she/her)

I have a three stage process when I'm going through a difficult time.

Step one (skip/minimise if funk is minor): wallow. Bath, chocolate, cry, sleep. Catharsis and indulging yourself. Mental health shit is exhausting. Deal with your primal needs.

Step two: do things that are healthy and make you feel good. Sing, exercise, reach out to people, other things that motivate you

Step three: the hard one. Dealing with your shit. (yeah I know, it sucks. But steps one and two mean you've nurtured yourself to prepare for it)

Mental health first aid: meditation is helpful. Grounding techniques (identify X number of things you can see, smell, touch - reminding yourself that you're connected to the present moment). I find journalling/writing therapeutic. Talk to a friend. Spend time with a pet (yours or someone else's). Spend time in nature

Oh I grew up in a small seaside town, I completely get what you mean! I miss sitting on the beach listening to the waves, especially late at night

It can be a bit of a circle that increases as you panick you get more anxious and overwhelmed

Try reassure yourself all is ok relax if can or fixate on something else like breathing there’s coping strategies that experts can teach you

Im no expert so suggest speaking with them I also have found personally and we’re all individual s if you can analyse what makes you panic or start the circle to take steps to avoid the scenario get help and talk your not alone even thou at time it bloody feels like it good luck xxx

Sometimes things in life just get on top of me, I’ve never really known what to do.

The latest thing I’ve been trying is the gym, and it’s helping.

I find that it’s a place that none of any other part of my life is.

I don’t really care who is there, I just train and it’s a place to go for how ever long a need.

It can be so hard but well done for posting this.

One of the things I've seen be really effective for people are grounding techniques the 54321 senses one is a good one to look at ,EFT (tapping) can also be helpful, mindfulness, various breathing exercises - the five finger breathing technique or belly breathing can be great ones to try.

Some GPs have wellbeing services which are amazing resources.

Be kind to yourself first and foremost.

Lots of good advice here. Might try some myself. I think the most important one is to talk to someone.

We have very fixed views of ourselves and it sometimes helps to get another perspective

I had pangs of this earlier.

I just try and rationalise it all - it's just biochemistry and the reasons I feel sad doesn't really change anything in the here and now.

Failing that a bit of distraction.

Be good to yourself.

Message some outrageous aging transvestite.

They may be gobshites, but they are wise and good to talk to.

That goes for any of you that want a chat x
