"Maldives..." We did have that booked a few years ago, but cancelled the plans. Looks stunning but not sure we would want to spend more than a few days there.

"I personally would recommend Haifa or Tel Aviv (Israel) Contrary to beliefs and media representation the people are amazing, the sights, beach and sea are spectacular and the food is out of this world " Would definitely visit these places. Looks like a gold place to explore and experience.

"We love to do things when we are away. We can only sit by the pool or beach for a couple of days and get bored - we just need to get out and explore the culture and sights and sounds. " In this case you’d love my suggestion guaranteed Only downfall, if you could call it a downfall, is airport security but needs must

"New Zealand is pretty epic. I actually liked the States quite a bit too (extremely diverse if you intend to travel around it lots). Laos is great if you want to imagine Thailand 50 years go. I last went to Madagascar and it was lovely, but doesn't have the infrastructure to be a dirty backpacker with ease - better off getting one of those middle class tour things." Laos is actually right up there on our list. We usually (though not always if shorter trips) travel with the kids so wouldn’t do anything too back-packer esque at this time.

"Nope, we are not talking about “dags” and caravans. People who like to travel… Mrs and I enjoy travelling and have visited a range of places from the usual European breaks to the Caribbean and the Far East, the latter of which is our favourite. So… who recommends where? Name us ONE place you have been to which you feel we would have to see in person in our lives. X" Niagara Falls

"I’ve always loved travelling since hitching around Europe at 16. I would highly recommend a trip to Kigali, capital of Rwanda. Beautiful green city in the hills between jungles & quite a small city. Very hilly but motorbike taxi is the way to get around. Amazing people, Lots of Art & Crafts, Coffee shops, Milk bars and of course jungle trips. And if you’re comfortable around lots of crying, and will likely cry yourself hearing the stories , visit the Genocide memorial sites in the city and learn about the history." Sounds interesting. Not too keen on the crying; not that we would rather pretend life is perfect (“ignorance is bliss” and all) but having been to ground zero in NYC and Hiroshima too, getting upset and reading/hearing about the darker side of humanity is one thing but seeing others around us sobbing might be a bit too much.

"A couple others I would recommend. Lisbon , Portugal. I think I heard it’s the oldest city in Europe or something Timor Indonesia island hopping through to Bali, sone crazy tiny desert islands like Roti. 4WD West coast & Arnhem Land Australia, " We have done Bali. Lisbon would be a nice long weekend. Definitely fancy a route 66 type trip but probably when the kids have grown up And buggered off as they’d be bored of all the driving.

"Coba Mayan ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.. Takes about 15 minutes to climb to the top but the view of hundreds of square miles of endless jungle is awesome.. And you get to meet the proper tribes people .. And it's near Playa Del Carmen which in itself is an amazing holiday " Oh and I forgot to add ( if you get the right tour ) you get to swim in the natural Cenotes as well where you can snorkel in underwater caves for ages .. It's a truly spectacular day out
