Do you ever read a reply post on a thread or even the original OP post and have no idea what someone is talking about? I am reasonably intelligent, modestly intellectual, suffiently wordly and have enuugh awareness of popular culture but still don't get some of those posts. Looking for reassurance that I am not the only one

Well, I am sure we all have done a few of those

it's the ones that people refer to obscure stuff as others should be familiar with those. I am just wondering whether I am up enough on current lingo, affairs and popular culture. Perhaps I need an update

There are quite a few references I don't understand. I'm not interested in films so I frequently don't understand references to popular movies or quotes from them and some modern slang has passede by. It took me years before I realised a lot of usernames were lifted from Game of Thrones

Thank goodness for that. And I can publicly admit I am probably one of the very few people that never watched it. Perhaps one day
