Never meet anyone from the forums well tell a lie there I have sort off meet one person from the fourms but wasn’t exactly a meet

How has it been? Both equally rewarding and frustrating, because I've met some lovely forumites who all exceeded my 'expectations', but also sad that so many are geographically dispersed for me to meet and imbibe. But it's not an impossibility.

I don't really have serious expectations because I have nothing to work from other than the photographs from their profiles and the way they engage and conduct themselves on the forå.

I may possess a general inkling of how they ·may· 'look' but to be honest I have no real mental image. I suppose I have a flaky imagination.

Yes, to a certain extent. The forums are just a snapshot of a person at that particular moment in time. Tone can't always easily be read, your own biases slip into how you view a person. I guess over time you can get more of an insight? More of a feel for a person.

I've had the pleasure of meeting a few at various socials and they've all been as expected, one social was a bit crazy packed so the atmosphere wasn't great and I think a few we're a bit fed up but in general everyone I've met has been great.

I don't really have any preconceived thoughts on what people are like though, I find meeting at face value much easier.

Yes I think that’s been it. I’ve surely met people like Topsy or Stingly at socials, people who post a lot and openly so you get the general gist of how they are over posts here and there.

The only thing that keeps me up at night till this day is the fact when I met F&B for coffee he went unlos a few days later.

I've never really anticipated whether they would be different or the same as their forum persona as I've mostly just been excited to meet them.

I have noticed they may be a little more reserved though which completely normal as typing opinions on here is a very different prospect to meeting in person and only a few I've found have been completely the same when first meeting them.

On previous profiles I met a couple of people via the forums. Not sure it was different to meeting anyone else as still involved chatting one to one before agreeing to meet. In my case, it was more a different way of being introduced. Overall it was a positive experience at the time.

Face to face is the window of oppertunity ,for you to leave an impression. So abit can be pieced to what may or could be down the line,if both parties persued,the intentions and the Goal is the same.

I've met quite a few over the years, mostly socially some more.

All my experiences have been positive. I've not met anyone and thought they were all that different to what I expected. Some a little more shy in person but that's actually endearing.

I hope I've been as people expect. I think thats the biggest fear for me when it's forum people. Especially those you interact with regularly. It almost feels like there is more pressure for them to like you when you meet them.

I’ve met quite a few forum folks in my time, almost exclusively so! For the most part, they’ve been wonderful and delightful people, a few less so, several far more so.

As with any long term text based interactions, it can give you insight but not the full experience, meeting in person is always the way forwards
