Yeah your right, I recalled it was something along those lines. I think its also something to do with Marsellus's soul or spirit, thats why he has that plaster on his neck in the film. And it was also meant to contain Marvin's ear that was cut off in R Dogs. But why it would be glowing I don't know.

I reckon the diamonds is a safe bet

Sold his soul to the devil. The plaster on the neck is where it was "extracted"

QT has been quoted as saying its whatever you want it to be.

Does it really matter? It was Marcellus's property and he wanted it back, that's all that's relevant to the storyline.

I think you're reading too much into it. It could have been his cheese and onion crisp sarnies and a flashlight ffs!

"Fresh tesco burger"

It's a homage to the briefcase in Kiss Me Deadly (and Repo Man) which supposedly contained something radioactive

Contents of the briefcase:

A hacksaw

Four egg mayonnaise sandwiches

A paperback copy of Battlefield Earth by L Ron Hubbard

A handwritten list of all the birds Quentin Tarantino could think of in two minutes

A map of Idaho

A syringe of nectarine juice

A roll of Denso tape

A pair of sunglasses

Two cans of RC Cola

A half-eaten Big Mac

If QT had put a state map in there it would have been one of Alabama

Definitely Idaho. Don't know why. I'm just reporting what I just made up.

Just looked it up, apparently it's a real place. Coincidence? No.

But surely the suspense element would be best served, if the case contained a slightly smaller case which in turn contains a slightly smaller case still.... and this process kept repeating itself every time an increasingly smaller case was found inside the one before……

Oh c'mon it would be funny and at least it would provide a good plot for a sequel ….
