My sister moved yesterday, i spent the day lumping stuff from one house to the other, didn't finish till gone 11 on the evening had a right stressful end to it, struggling to get a double fridge freezer out the old property and even harder getting it into the new property.

the stress was kicking in at the end of the day, this is the second person i have helped move in the last six months, i am not bloody helping anyone else lol.

How stressful did you find moving ?

Mine was easy... I had virtually nothing.

I helped my parents a decade ago and that was a long day. I strangely enjoyed feeling useful though - I just jumped in and bossed it for them.

I love doing removals.

During my gap year I worked for a removal company in Sydney.

Every day would start with a drive over the harbour bridge sitting up high in a truck.

I kept my uniform and wear it every time I help someone move house.

Aw, the memories.

Never found it stressful and have always moved across a Friday to Monday swap.

Room or two at a time from old place to new.

Always been easier that way.

Longer to move , less stress.

I hate it. Have done it various ways but would always use a removal firm/man and van now wherever I could to take that stress part away.

Nothing stressful about it as long as you pack it right in the first place.

As goes for bigger items yes they are ackward to get out.

Some stuff wont come out as some units are in the way that need taking apart just to get the stiff out.

Ive known some stuff that wont come out as they was taken into the property through something else that dosnt exist anymore.

We had loads of young men to lift and load when we moved.

I was supervisor at my old house and walked into the new one with everything in the correct room.

Have the number of a lovely chap who has helped us move a couple of times in the last 10 years. The days of me renting a van and doing it with friends helping has long passed

So a day spent moving some stuff from one place to another stressed you out. I'm guessing maybe manual labour isn't really your thing

I am organised, but hate moving.

13 times in 5 years was the most, so I try not to.

.

Not stressful at all. This is currently the longest I've lived in a house and I'm starting to get itchy feet. I love cleaning the new house, labelling everything properly and taking the time to unpack room by room. Like Boo above I've always exchanged on the Friday so there's the weekend to get things done.

Before it I always make sure to do a deep clean and be ruthless with items. Then it's a doddle.

well it wasn't me that was stressed out it was them, but it is hard graft especially when your rapidly approaching 59 years of age. I am a site maintenance guy in a large school, manual labor so manual labor is very much my thing, i am always dragging stuff from one side of the school to the other,

they were very grateful for my help, as no one else was available to help them being it was a Friday and people working. I am on my way back over there now to rebuild a double wardrobe, now they have got a lot of stuff cleared away, no rest for the wicked lol.

Fair enough , like a bus drivers holiday so, doing the day job on your day off...that's a pain alright

They say that the only thing that goes past the stress of moving is a bereavement.
