Great Wyrley

Do you go straight for the instant first thing in the morning or do you do wait for a filter/drip coffee?

What coffee machine do you have and is it any good?

I’ve a box standard melitta filter machine but thinking of upgrading. I’d like an automatic bean to cup but they’re quite expensive.

Thought about a second hand espresso machine to make an americano but don’t think it will get much use as can’t be doing with the faff of the whole process.

We've got a L'or machine which suits us very well. They send a recycling bag with their pods too.

I drink rooibos tea in the morning and Mr N has instant coffee but throughout the day we use the machine.

I just use a stove-top Moka pot. I love it. Not the quickest way to make a coffee, but I quite like the ritual of it, and I'm a bit of a fan-boy for it's beautiful design...

All over

Good ground coffee and a caffetiere gives you a nice and quick first coffee whatever your plans for the rest of the day and any sybsequent coffee intakes you may have

Instant is the coffee of very last resort.

My favourite is fresh ground coffee in an aeropress. Best coffee you’ll taste. A pod machine is used for quick hits… faster than a kettle to boil.

If I'm in a rush then it's just regular freeze-dried coffee. Otherwise, usually it's a Cafetière (French Press).

If I’m at work and it’s early I’ll go through Mcds it’s actually an ok coffee

At home I’ll go for the French press and use ground coffee.

Northampton Somewhere

We use a caffetiere and grind some nice beans

I'd rather go without than drink instant.

Freshly roasted coffee, I grind it myself to preserve freshness. Filter coffee - more of a device than a machine.

Instant is last resort. I'll go for tea first (nothing wrong with tea. I prefer coffee)

I normally just have one coffee a day at around 10:30am and never really feel like I need one first thing and gives me something to look forward to

I use fresh coffee beans with my own grinder and use something called a Clever Dripper which is a steep and release brewer which provides great results

I wake up feeling I need something to light my arse on fire to get me going. I'm trying to resist going straight for coffee, because I'm starting to find I do better chugging several glasses of water and going for coffee a bit later, as something to enjoy not a necessity.

Exactly this. Love the lazy ritual of watching and waiting

Yes, same here, and I will rarely put up with anything else at a friends house, I can stoop to a cafetiere if it’s made very very strong but otherwise I will just go without thanks

I agree!

I also have a sage bean to cup. A bit of an investment, but I have a coffee with it most days

If I ask for water at someone else's house at a time of day I'd normally have coffee - I don't rate the tea or the coffee on offer

That's what I do, drink a pint of water and have coffee because I want it, not because I need it.

I love coffee but I'm not too bothered how it is made. I mostly use instant but make sure to grab a decent jar because I always find the cheaper ones taste a bit rank. I won't drink it black and I like it a little bit sweet.

Filter coffee don’t have instant in the house. As for machine think the one at the moment is Tesco cheapest filter machine (other supermarkets are available) cheaper than most kettles.

Coffee strong with barista oat milk or coffee mate if I’ve run out and sugar.

If the jug gets a bit cold before I’ve finished it, I’ll microwave.

Now I don’t care if anyone thinks this is wrong as personally it’s better than any coffee chain in the uk
