Perception is based on your own scale, what the pearl-clutching Muggles consider a slut might be wearing heels and a short skirt, where other people might think banging 20 guys and walking home with a face like a plasterers radio is perfect acceptable. Personally, I don't think it should be used at all as it's subjective.

It means different things to different people.

For me it's a word I'm happy to be called, it's a moniker I'm happy to live up too.

For others it's an insult.

It is a term still typically levelled at women, but as times move forward the word has become more encompassing to all.
