Do you feel like people read your posts with any interest?

If you don’t, what inspires you to keep posting?

A great question.

I think it depends how many posts are going on at the same time. Sometimes there are a fair few that interest me, and you may miss others

I personally don’t need affirmation of others but also it’s nice to see others commenting.

I have had a bit of an epiphany lately, just be yourself and people will either interact or not, and if they don’t, well I’m sure I’ll survive

The voices in my head tell me to keep posting, and I have to put things down in writing in case the brain weasels take the bit with that memory in.

Yes and no and depends if its my post or replies to others. Sometimes get good interaction and other times get ignored.

Why keep posting? Perseverance and other times I post for me and not for interactions.

I got asked this earlier in a dm

I think alot of people misunderstand me here. I genuinely do like making threads on niche but also actual sexual things to get peoples opinions on whatever they may be. I'm interested in the topics - I was genuinely curious as to whether women would prefer to sit on an uglier face with better skill

People also say I'm a horny golden retriever...I'm actually pretty mellow and chilled! But I don't air drama or woe is me on here, real life is for that!

But yes I feel heard and do I get a kick out of someone people eye rolling everytime I post....yes, yes I do

I’m not going to reply individually to everyone here as in recent years I’ve personally found that really annoying on threads.

I personally think we all feel similarly at times but I’m confident that people don’t always want to acknowledge points made that they agree with, feel connected too or find funny publicly.

My point is, always continue to post your thoughts, anecdotes, hopes, fears and jokes no matter how insignificant they may feel to you because there will always be people that read them and the unpredictability of the lounge is what makes it so very addictive

If I do a post it's usually to interact with others and I try to reply to make sure everyone feels heard.

Most people likely roll their eyes at all my romantic notions.

Sometimes I'll overshare, sometimes I'll write smut and sometimes I'll think I'm being really funny.

It doesn't really bother me what others make of these things. I'm just here to join in.

I don't know. Sometimes, sometimes not. It's just one of those things isn't it? People aren't always going to make it known they've read or enjoyed your posts.

I know that my particular style of posting (and talking let's be honest because I talk in a similar fashion to how I type!) isn't for everyone.

I've said here before that I've started hundreds of threads over the years.

Every single one of those has been light-hearted with nothing contentious or argumentative and yet a number of them have been removed.

I've only ever had 3 threads that have gone over 30 replies and 2 of those were closed with no explanation.

Am I being heard? Probably not because I've seen some more prolific posters post exactly the same thread on the very same day as mine and those all run to 175 posts.

I rarely start threads these days.

"I’m not going to reply individually to everyone here as in recent years I’ve personally found that really annoying on threads.

It's sad when people think they aren't noticed. If only there was a Like button..

"

Yes that would be great. It was being asked about years ago. Don’t always want to post and quote especially if it’s long, but it would be good to show appreciation like that.

I hear people, but I purposely disassociate the person from the post. I don’t like to form opinions of people based on forum posts , because it’s usually way off. People are much nicer in real life

The simple fact is that some people no matter how much they resonate with something you post will never publicly agree with you purely based on a dislike of you (usually based on nothing more than images you post) which is quite sad really.

I will comment on topics where I feel I have a valuable or a tongue and cheek input for a bit of a giggle - should this strike a chord with someone or make someone smile then I’m happy in that knowledge, I don’t need the public acknowledgment of it.

It’s nice to think that something you’ve said may help or guide someone to a better place

North East Scotland, mostly

Sometimes, yes. My threads tend to be wide-ranging, sometimes random, really depends what's in my head at the time! I post them because it amuses me. Sometimes they fly, sometimes they don't. I used to spend much more time curating them but don't tend to these days.

I don't chat as much about serious stuff as I used to in here, so feeling heard is less important to me.

Life experience has taught me that nothing happens in a vacuum so forum comments reinforce my opinion on the poster.

There are a handful of posters I have strongly disagreed with on particular threads but fully agree with them on others.

That's down to how they post and how they are respectful of other people's opinions.

There are many others though who are incapable of that.

I have yet to be pleasantly surprised by a single forumite I've met at socials because they have all been exactly as they post.

I genuinely have noticed everyone in this thread. I also genuinely think for the first time in a while there hasn't been an obvious dickhead on the forums.

But maybe that's because I'm not looking at myself?
