I personally (being a TV) watch for how they are attired, how they walk and conduct themselves, wig/hair, make-up etc.

I don't see many out... Or perhaps they are so convincing they go under my radar.

I’m generally too busy and in my own head to notice anyone around me

If I did notice, and I have from time to time, it has only been due to makeup looking the wrong shade/badly applied or clothes styling that isn’t quite suited. In those instances I just thought it was nice to see someone on their journey and having confidence that they will find their style in due course. Kinda reminded me of when I was a teenager trying to figure out how to dress as a woman rather than a girl

some times I think for fucksake other time I think they have put all of effort into their choice of outfit .saw one 6ft 3 must have been. all dressed in black lace with high leather boots and gauntlets on long grey hair. I thought certainly had style and confidence .

It depends, the vast majority will just be going about their day and won’t even be noticed, others maybe noticed but just trying to fit in, yet others might be trying to stand out. All of these people are just living their lives and good for them.

Unfortunately there are a very small percentage who (I know I’m going to get stick for this but I think it has to be said), ruin it for everyone else.

I’m talking about the people who go out wearing stuff that no-one, no matter their gender, should be wearing in public. There’s time and place for everything and whilst some may think they’re pushing boundaries, all that tends to happen is that it causes grief for those of us just trying to live our lives.

I’ve probably made a complete hash out of that and made myself sound like I’m throwing shade on my own community which I’m really trying not to but when you have been on the receiving end of hate, it’s hard not to have a small place in your mind that wishes others wouldn’t make it harder for you

…… and other times I’m just downright jealous that I couldn’t pull off that outfit

Yep and we all get there. With a few fashion disasters. I had a particularly outrageous time with a fluffy pink jumper, pink and grey tartan mini skirt and pink tights with knee high boots. Oh and a black beret. I didn’t have that outfit off my back for weeks and I was a real spectacle !!! There is a photo of it in the possession of a friend. I keep hoping it gets lost !!!

I think it really livens life up when someone does things out of the ordinary. Near where i live there is a man who dresses always as a pirate. He's a nice, friendly guy and very handsome! But his 'thing' is walking around like a pirate... So cool!

I don’t pay any attention but on the odd occasion that I notice the person is Tv - i think great - they’re doing what makes them happy. In addition as a general rule my experience of being in a social environment with Tv’s is that they are amongst the most kind spirited genuine people I’ve met.

To be honest i'm just happy to see someone of 'my own kind' so to speak... Though a lot of the time two TVS are like chalk and cheese... Very very different people dressing up for very different reasons.

For me personally I don't dress to 'be a woman' and I don't dress primarily for sexual reasons. I don't even see it as 'crossdressing', but just wearing alternative clothes to what a man would usually wear. I usually find TVS are just as or more complex than me in their views.

I work on a makeup counter so get a lot of people coming over for makeup advice.

Generally I just treat them like any other customer, but also try and make them a feel a bit more relaxed so they feel that it’s a safe/judgement free zone. As I know makeup shopping can be daunting for some

It not easy , instead of trying to fit in l just do what is right for me without causing offence. On a big nite out then chuck the sink in ,around tesco then leggings, scruffy cardi n ballet flats. I gave up worrying about other's view of me years ago

Unfortunately there are a very small percentage who (I know I’m going to get stick for this but I think it has to be said), ruin it for everyone else.

I’m talking about the people who go out wearing stuff that no-one, no matter their gender, should be wearing in public. There’s time and place for everything and whilst some may think they’re pushing boundaries, all that tends to happen is that it causes grief for those of us just trying to live our lives.

I’ve probably made a complete hash out of that and made myself sound like I’m throwing shade on my own community which I’m really trying not to but when you have been on the receiving end of hate, it’s hard not to have a small place in your mind that wishes others wouldn’t make it harder for you

A lot of TV's try to attain to an ideal they have in their minds of women they admire... Their dress sense might be a reflection of that. I say people should wear what they want, but I do understand it can look a little out of place.

People often dress to project a fake image of themselves ( designer clothes etc) thinking it attracts positive responses, but I would imagine most TV have many negative responses from people but still do it

I always find that if someone is a good person they will be a good person regardless of whether you are wearing jeans and a tshirt or a pink hat with a feather in it.

My revelation came when i realised that people hated me whatever i did in life or whatever I believed. You just have to do you... But do it with fucking bells on.

My reaction would vary from "He looks ridiculous" to "she looks hot".

There are some very bad trannies who are essentially men in frocks, and there are some incredibly hot transwomen who are every bit as feminine as anyone born a woman.

Love going out dressed, and as someone mentioned before different clothes for different places/occasion.

a lot of the clothes i wear outdoors on my pics are in secluded places away from the public and families.

I have the normal clothes for street and shopping/going out. it is a thrill to get out and i have now realised that most people do not care they might have a glance but thats about it.

I notice women tend to look a bit more than men, i do wear high heels and seamed stockings most of the time too so i do get noticed a bit and i am quite tall.

I really only mentally note how "convincing" they are. If I see an obvious man in drag I wonder whether they are a day dresser or actually trans.

30 yrs ago there was a Transformations shop in Newcastle opposite a cafe I used to go to.

You'd see guys walk in and then come out as women and go into town shopping. Some were naturals and walked and acted like women. Others were a little more obvious.

My overriding memory was of them being brave...it was a long time ago.

Now, I think I wonder if they are doing it for effect or are TVs.

Also, there was a Trans at my University back then...35 yrs ago.

He started as a TV and then slowly transitioned but always seemed quite masculine. He was tall, had big feet and walked like he'd never worn heeled boots before.

He, at the time, got a job as part of the lecturing staff and always seemed comfortable with his life although I don't think I ever saw him nwith anyone.

I went back 15 years ago, and saw her, still dressing the same, still with a pony tail but now sporting a bald spot as well. She was was still walking across the quadrangle alone.

I remember hoping they were happy. She made tough choices at a time when few did/could and I hoped it worked out well.

I know that's a Trans woman but she started as a TV and that's what I thought.

Personally (for myself) I feel it's more about correcting the mind to fit the body than correcting the body to fit the mind (through surgery etc). (Again; for me personally).

I personally xdress because it's simply what I want to do. I don't see clothes or colours as having any gender because they don't. I love 'fem' attire - there's much more choice and I love makeup and womens' scents. I love the whole female world and I love allowing the softer part of me out. I love attracting men because I like them lol! It's debateable what that makes me but I've never found a suitable label for myself and even if I did I might change my mind in the future; so I'm not big on labels. I'm still discovering 'me'.

Women look out for me when I'm out and many will treat me like one of them, and I look out for women when I am out and about (say if they are getting bother from a man etc). Dressing taught me things about women I'd otherwise have not known. - I get a 'tiny' bit of insight into their world and I have built up trust with a lot of women nowadays who know my heart; (eventhough I'm not a woman and never will be). Crossdressing allowed me to get closer to women in a way I found difficult 'as a man' (so to speak lol!). I've made a lot of good friends through 'crossdressing', online and off. For me it's beyond a hobby and is a way of life and always fun and exciting... There is always something to look forward too being a crossdresser... New adventures... And it's always great seeking that holy-grail (so to speak) of getting the desired look perfected! I've learned over the years that public crossdressing isn't about: 'passing' (as a woman); but about being myself and looking the best I can.

When l first went out,maybe,after a while l don't really notice ,must be a blending in type of thing.lf l get any nice comments nowadays they are usually about my dress from women.If l go back to a place l have not been to for a while some guys approach and have a chat and say they remember me,l suppose we do stand out in a crowd unless you are stunningly beautiful like some trans girls on here."

People are usually really nice to me and say nice things. The main critique women have of me is 'too much make up' and I have toned it down a little over the years. When I'm doing makeup with a woman though, they can see why I need to use a bit more than a born woman to achieve more feminine features and they usually go 'ahhh ok'. Got to make those lips a little wider, those eyes a little larger etc.

I glance at them the same as I do other people.

If there was a really attractive one I'd admire them for a second or two more.

I do that with every one.

I live in London and go into the centre, where it isn't uncommon to see TVs or TS people.

When I used to dress fully I mainly did it at kink events as it was where I felt safe. There was the rare outing in vanilla world but going shopping and nightclubs was never my thing.

One of the few times I did go to a gay club dressed a woman came up to me, rubbed her hands up and down my dress, said lovely and walked off.

The worst experiences I had were from other tvs or ts girls, one who told me I was a coward for not having the change.
