Is it true?

(Thanks Meli for my thought on this. )

Anyone who’s watch Ted Lasso will know the word BELIEVE *one for the nerds but I’m that type of guy.

I’ve always thought if I turned up to a party and I was in a bad mood, I’d bring the vibe down. And I see that with me. When others around me are in a mood or got a ‘face on’ i can’t be happy around them. They pull me into their mood.

Are you a mood giver, can you cheer people up?

I think it does, you have to allow yourself the possibility of success. It's easier, safer and with less reward to think negatively. But as the cliche goes, if you don't try.......And if you don't believe then you won't try.

I can cheer my mum and my kids up. Not sure about anyone else - I probably get on their tits!

I think it depends. Positivity for positivity sake is tiring in my opinion.

Can someone’s mood affect others…most certainly.

But then if I’m in that mood where I may bring others down I warn them that I am not great company and offer to not be around them

"I can cheer my mum and my kids up. Not sure about anyone else - I probably get on their tits! "

This is too easy ….

But do you reckon that’s because they know you well and you know them that it’s easy to make someone smile when they are not in the mood

from my dad's left nut (Warwick)

We beget what we put out, put postuve vibes out we get postive vibes back, and vice versa...

That being said thr only mood I need to change is my own, anybodies else's is uo for them to change uo by doing something differently

I read somewhere people are either energy (positivity) drains, or radiators. Meaning they either suck the energy out of you just by being in their company. Or the energy just circulates and builds between you.

All over

I stay at home if I can't be positive around people unless they are friends or family who can lift my mood. Generally positive though.

I’ve made a career out of radiating positive energy and always putting a smile on my face. No matter what.

I am an empath though and someone else’s negative mood can really hurt me inwardly. I’m a terrible empath & suck that negativity inside & continue to push on for everyone else.

That shit will kill me one day

Ah yes! At work we use energy vampires which really tickles me. I've dubbed people Robinsons before.

I like spending time/talking to people who aren't constantly generating energy or draining mine. You know, that happy medium that can be found occasionally.

I think with the right people, no know it, I'm not worried about Tiggering. Day to day I'm quite an excitable happy sort of person - I love life and all the joy to be found in it. Love cheering people up with excited waffling etc. I don't mind if people have low energy days, everyone does.

I didn't realise how evident my mood was to others until Friday when having an iced coffee with a dear friend. I'm determined to keep being more positive and enjoying life, lessening hurt and bringing more joy in to the lives of those I care about.

Yes, I've come across this too, and I definitely think there's something to it, certainly in a work context.

I like to think I'm a radiator, but like one on a steady setting. I'm warm and positive, but not at full blast able to heat a freezing room in 5 mins.

I wouldn’t say I’m particularly positive but I have an ability to get even the quietest of people to come out of their shell.

I tend to stay away from others when I’m feeling a little down or grumpy because like you said, I don’t want to bring them down too.

I try and lift people up and be positive if I notice they’re looking a bit down, I’m not sure I’m very good at it though.

Yes I'm a positive mood giver, working in retail in my 20's we did the pass a mood training. As a store checkout operative, the mood reflector happens, people pass smiles or grumps on to the next person they meet and so on and so on

When I'm down I seek solitude as a norm anyway, so wouldn't pass on my downer to others

The worse I feel the more I want to help others or boost them up. I like to think I'm a fairly positive person in general. I try really hard to not bring others down with me if I'm struggling. I'm the queen of swanning as my sons would say.

Yes it does , we influence those around us so staying positive & proactive under pressure is an essential life skill. There’s times to withdraw & be sad though, the stiff upper lip and positive thinking movement is very destructive
