Can't stand the fucking stuff myself, despite living in it's stronghold, so do any of you live in an area that is famous for a particular foodstuff that you personally find tastes like shite?

I was about to disagree with you until I realised I have no idea what shite tastes like.

That said, I love rhubarb.

Where I live we have a local takeaway delicacy called a parmo, they originated around here & then spread across the North East. They are a chicken fillet, battered to within an inch of its life until its flat, then its coated in breadcrumbs, deep fried, then topped with bechamel sauce and cheddar cheese which is melted in the oven. Its served with chips and salad or creamy cabbage. they come in full or half versions, a full one weighs in at around 2600 cals, with 150g of fat

They are the stable meal of those staggering away from nightclubs at 3am.

Most Teessiders love em, but outsiders can't seem to get away with em.

If you go on youtube theres videos on how to make them, really easy!

Don't forget the ten pints beforehand to get the juices flowing

We live in Wakefield - part of the Rhubarb Triangle (even a pub named after it) - lovely stuff ....... brings back memories of being a kid dipping it in sugar (then moaning of bellyache).

I love rhubarb especially in a crumble with custard, yummy

Think Gloucester is famous for cheese, not a fan overall of the stuff except cooked or melted, never raw like in a salad, spoils a salad to be honest
