Falme

I've done some can and pouch kits but my ex's father had a god tier setup in his garage. Lots of food grade pumps for moving the liquids, an old fridge to keep the primary fermentation at the perfect temperature then pressured corny kegs to carbonate and dispense.

Miss that man

I started on the crappy little beer kits and soon moved on to making wine.

I’ve got a good handle on rhubarb wine after a few years tinkering. It takes a while to work out the balance of sugar, yeast and time between racking.

Certainly do pal, it’s like an addiction! But never get round to drinking it all so mainly give it away to friends! Currently sat on about 100 bottles of wine that need drinking!

He did everything from scratch so boiled the hops and barley, got the malt from the sweetcorn that he had grew himself and wild yeast etc so without him the garage would just stand there lifeless.

I could have a bash at it but really was still in my apprenticeship phase when things ended so I've had to go back to pouches and plastic buckets under the stairs

Yes

I do beer kits, turbo cider and the occasional fresh juice wine. Haven't dabbled for a while tho and should get something in a keg sometime!

Made beer from a kit once, bead decent. Gonna pick my apples and pears soon ( that usually go to waste ) and make two different ciders. Bought an apple press.

Then, going to try wine from a kit.

Yes we make wine from our grapes each year. This year I think I'm going to make blackberry and elderberry wine too.

Yes, with coffee though as I don't drink alcohol which I assume this thread is about. However, I'm never one to miss a opportunity to crowbar my love of coffee into any conversation

Give wine making a go, it’s actually quite easy and just needs patience

Elderberry is something else, they call it the English grape.

Maybe we should have a Fab homebrew tasting session

Absolutely, I use kits for both beer and wine. The Range do a delicious American IPA that's like shipyard and Solomon grundy peirsporter at around £2 a bottle. All my mates love it.

There'd be a lot of sore heads. Our 2020 wine is pretty potent

I remember the father in law had this marrow took out the seeds, filled it with sugar, put a knitting needle through the bottom, hung it in an old pair of tights and over a few weeks out came alcohol that was so so strong .

I’ve done a couple of the home beer kits, which were surprisingly good! However, making cider from apples grown in your own garden is far more rewarding! I have 4 bottles left from last year’s harvest lol…
