The post will most probably be tantalised. Dipping it first is correct. You can buy posts that are soaked in creosote and guaranteed for 30 plus years, prepared the same as telegraph poles.

Don’t mess with it for now. Let the concrete set for at least 72 hours even if it was quick set

Let the wood totally dry and treat what you can see
