Recently the forums have got a bit hot with political , religious and racial views being aired or denigrated.

I have been drawn into a few and am uncomfortable about it.

We joined Fabs to find like minded open mined people for good sex and now find ourselves wagging fingers at people we had earmarked as maybes .

Maybe we should all chill a bit , life is too short to bicker and we have sex to get on with .

I disagree I find other peoples opinions very interesting and think the site is better for these threads.

To be fair, you don't have to contribute to those threads if you feel uncomfortable about them. I personally avoid posting on some (BBW, many political ones for example) but I still read them with interest - I find them a good indicator of folk I'm likely to get on with in real life (I have a looooong wish list of forumites I'd like to share a brew with) and also there's a few I'd rather poke my eye out with a sharp stick than ever have to share breathing space with. It's not someone disagreeing with my POV/political thinking/opinion/preference for Pinot over Chardonnay, it's the disparaging and rude way they put over that disagreement.

Having said that, sometimes it's bloody great fun arguing the toss with a tosser without calling them a tosser and getting a ban (if you see what I mean)

Also if I see what I perceive as bullying (cos there can occasionally be a pack mentality online) then I usually pop in with my tuppence worth

But then they aren't like minded. I would prefer to find out over a forum debate than waste time meeting people who I don't get on with.

I love a good debate but some people do take it too far and make it personal. Those are the ones I avoid.

in the night garden

I think that is why the lounge section is a seperate part of the forum so people can waffle on about anything.

If this is getting on your nerves, try just using the other sections of the forum

I personally enjoy the variety (and the bum threads)

The forums go in cycles...trust me there will be a needy thread along in a minute...all the fun of the forums....

You took the words out of my mouth - and saved me a lot of typing!!

Regardless of how good someone looks in their profile/pics - if I can see via posts and status updates that in my view they're not the kind of people I could hold a conversation with without wanting to stick a fork in their eye/run for the hills/steer clear of at all costs - I'll block so I don't forget what a prize twat I've seen them make of themselves in the past!

There's got to be an attraction to personality for me as well as the physical side!!

O o O oo

As is always in the case of threads like this...it gives the people who want to have a pop at other posters a platform to do it.

the best thing to do if someone or someones posts are not to your liking is to ignore them.....if any posts are against rules in any way then REPORT.
