Is Dogging Dead?

Hello lovely Fabbers.

I’m sure this question has been asked a million times, but I’m interested in seeing what discussion it may generate.

Is dogging dead? Or, at least, a lot less frequent these days?

I’m currently living in Gloucester. There’s a beauty spot located within the Gloucester area that’s notorious for dogging activities. I often here stories about ‘the glory days of dogging’ - accompanied with local tales of what it once was and the incredible stories that accompany those memories. Unfortunately, I frequent all the spots around this area (both popular and discreet), hoping for a taste of that fun. The only experiences I’ve had where I’ve found action is when it’s been arranged on Fab prior. I long for that spontaneous adventure of pulling up to a dogging spot - interior lights go on, with a woman or couple exploring their full sexual inhibitions, open to me watching and joining.

Maybe, just maybe, my pursuit of this has been unfortunate and my timings have been off, or maybe, people are less inclined to embrace the exhibitionist and voyeur side of life. It’s note-worthy to mention that I always follow appropriate dogging etiquette too - but alas, no success. Occasionally I will get approached by a gay or bi man - and respectfully I decline as I’m straight and seeking couples or solo women. Are my sexual preferences the issue, or are there less couples and/or solo females that partake in this activity then days gone?

I would be intrigued to get conversation generated about this. So please feel free to leave your thoughts on this topic, or memories of experiences you’ve had. I’m interested in learning more.

Happy Fabbing you gorgeous lot, Jake. xxx

I’m no Dogging expert, but from what I understand the rise of the internet has led to an uprise in the sharing of locations of previously popular spots leading to a proliferation of boy racers / troublemakers now frequenting them - and also an increased police presence.

I think there is still fun to be found at some locations but getting the planets to align so you’re there at the right time is the issue. Also, as you say, gay cruising tends to be most dominant these days.

I think generally the scene has declined a little, there was a popular dogging contact site, similar to Fab, that died a death not so long ago due to dwindling users.

Maybe your established route of Dogging via arranged meets is the best way to go.

Hopefully your luck will change soon!

It seems to be more arranged groups going to various locations.

Regular spots are not anywhere near as busy as they once were.

I know the spot you mean. And we went there during the so called glory days.

Dogging really isn’t what it used to be. You had no idea whether you’d be alone or in a full on gangbang. It was a complete lottery and a really exciting sub culture.

We started going when we were still at university and carried on as we moved through our twenties and thirties - and had an amazing time - but I think it’s just something that’s had its day.

We still go to Tog Hill from time to time and there’s still something happening now and then, just nothing like on the scale it used to be

Worthing

I know a couple who went dogging. She said both times there was just one man there.

It seems gaining access to these arranged groups is of a similar difficulty to solving the enigma code.

Yes, from my experiences frequenting these sites, there is definitely a high presence of boy racers, etc. It’s a shame that the scene has dwindled.

"It seems gaining access to these arranged groups is of a similar difficulty to solving the enigma code. "

The trick is speaking to the guys when you're at a site. There will be one or two knocking about.

Things come in waves - and go. Many things affect it, including season of the year m, affecting when it's dark, plus the boy racers ebb and flow, as do the police, trying to thwart trouble makers. TV and media coverage affects it too. And weather has an impact.

I wouldn't give too much credit to people talking about how everything was better in "ye olden days".

tried it a couple of times when we came out of lockdowns but it wasn't great.

remember Stan Collimore?

Back in the day, when he was playing for Liverpool, he had sex with a female in the back seat of my minicab as i was taking him to a hotel from a nightclub I was working as a house driver for VIPs.

he kept winking at me while he was playing with her and gave me a really good tip to boot.

When he was exposed as a dogger. I remembner thinking "yea, sounds like Stan the Man".
