I'm angry that our government doesn't take climate change seriously enough. Gove and Shapps are actively ruining our future.

I'm not an intellectual but I have eyes and ears. What I'm seeing is certain areas becoming uninhabitable through extremes of heat and extremes of rainfall. This will result in movement of marginalised populations into more temperate areas. I suspect it will also lead to difficulties in food production and possibly the availability of water.

I can't imagine what the future is going to look like and I don't want to.

There is definitely a change in the climate. It is becoming more about extremes every year. Extreme heat, flooding, drought, storms. While some of it may be a natural cycle, with the way we treat the planet, it's very hard to argue against mankind have an adverse effect or a worsening of the cycle.

However bad you think it is, it is actually worse. Several climate tipping points are now past, some big changes are now inevitable.

For instance, enough ice cap melting has occurred to tip the salinity balance in parts of the Atlantic ocean. This will have the effect of destroying the gulf stream that warms the west coast of the UK and Ireland, potentially causing much colder winters in the uk (think like the snow storms that New York can get). It will also change the habitats of Atlantic fish - that's the fishing industry completely gone, no more cod, an entire food source vanished. The changed currents will accelerate the melting of the ice caps, making the whole process unstoppable.

The alterations in ocean temperatures will change the standard global wind patterns that we learned about in school - the trade winds. Which will alter climate more. Rain will fall where it didn't before, causing floods. Areas known for rainfall will get none, causing droughts. Crops will fail due to getting the wrong temperatures, precipitation, amount of sunlight... Most crops are very sensitive to their expected climate - you can't grow wheat in rice areas, you can't grow rice in potato areas etc. So though there will still be vast areas which will potentially grow crops, we'll have got the wrong crops in the wrong parts of the world. Olive trees take a century to grow - no more olives, no more olive oil, all the foodstuffs that depend on olive oil gone. Just one tiny example.

Really I'm pretty glad that I'll be gone before the really bad parts kick in. Your kids will see it pretty damn bad. Your grandkids will live (and many die) in a world that will be unrecognisably bad.

couple, us we him her.

The inconvenient truth is that damage done.

Regardless of man's actions the earth was always going to end up a burning ball of molten rock or sploded into a trillion trillion tiny specs of dust thanks to the sun.

We are a spec of nothing on a universal scale and probably part of a natural cycle happening on countless planets in the infinite expanse of space.

Some say that we have interfered with the development of our planet, you could also argue that maybe just maybe this was supposed to be this way and we are just part of the cycle of our planets life.

Either way whatsoever you believe we are here now living, breathing and let's do what we can to make the best of our gift of life and a beautiful planet we are guests on.

Whilst greed exists and there's money to be made nothing will be done by industry and those who have the ability to make the changes, they have had the chance to change things they have been warned so what's done is done.

Chances are things aren't going to get that far anyway with Mad Vlad and the American war machine poking him.

Personally I'm more concerned about teen-agers and young people who are happy to let unqualified people inject the most deadly bacterial toxin know to mankind into their faces in the name of vanity !

Science progresses so fast that things that seem unsolvable now will be easily solvable in 100, 500 or 1000 years.

When we really need solutions we tend focus & find them fast - inventing Atomic bombs, fixing holes in the ozone layer, discovering COVID Vaccines.

Global warming is happening, air quality is bad too PM2.5 often 2 x the WHO limit in the uk , 10x here and 20x in sone areas of China. But it’s not bad enough yet for governments to act. Humans are resilient can build and inhabit cities with 50 degrees heat quite easily.

I am one person and from what I have witnessed myself, we are certainly contributing to climate change. Just a few of my personal examples.

I lived in Brunei for a short while from 1976-77. It had a small airport and very few tarmac roads. Our house stood on a beach with the rainforest behind us. Monkeys would come to our compound in search of easy food and eventually, play with my dog and I.

We’d drive to Borneo through the rainforest on a pockmarked dirt track barely wide enough for two cars to squeeze past each other, if we even came across another car.

I went back to the area in 2010. The beach where our house once stood is lined with air-conditioned hotels and resorts along the entire couple-mile stretch where there used to be a house every 300 feet or so. The rainforest is completely gone, replaced by wide tarmac roads, air conditioned houses, shopping centres and a business district with tall glass buildings. Drive out of the city and it’s full of palm oil plantations for the production of the ubiquitous ingredient in processed food.

I lived in Dubai from 1978-9. It was still pretty much a desert with a few ‘tall’ buildings. There weren’t even many cars. Few buildings even had air-conditioning back then. Now, we all know what it has become.

I lived in Singapore more recently. Every August-September, we would encounter The Haze; a phenomenon entirely man-made where SE Asia is blanketed in a toxic smoke emanating from the palm plantations of Indonesia clearing their land by illegally burning it. Fires, which the government and other international agencies are unable to control because there are thousands of them. The farmers would rather take the chance to burn and risk getting caught than to do the clearing the hard and ‘expensive’ way. Needless to say that some of these palm plantations have replaced the rainforests that once stood there.

The Earth may have its climatic cycles but nothing can convince me that we aren’t adding, catastrophically, to whatever Mother Nature throws up into the atmosphere once in a while.

Miles

Pointless debate. People stick to their position, mostly based on political leanings and aren't prepared to change views.

They will pull up the arguments that support their position and ignore others that don't.

When in reality its a scientific question and the politicians aren't the experts.

Intellect and scientific "data" have nothing to do it. Debating what is actually happening in the world to real people right now is just wasting time.

Antarctic sea ice hitting new historic lows every year for the last few years. Ice shelves that are millions of years old breaking off. Satellite imagery proof, not speculation or judgment biased "opinion".

Areas where there was permanent Arctic sea ice is not freezing properly solid even in the depths of winter. Lots of areas where there were once ice roads over winter the ice now no longer pack or freeze enough to build tracks for sleds let alone anything heavier.

Many pacific island nations like Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu have all lost several entire islands and are losing more and more land area every year. Many resorts that were once breach side bungalows are now entirely claimed by the sea.

Permafrost all around the world is melting. This is not an area that melts and re-freezes over a yearly season, this is ground that has been frozen permanently for thousands of years.

I get the fact the world is warming up. i get the fact that man is having an affect on that yet i dont class it as Global warming because of mankind. it know that in the time scientest can look back that This world has had two ice ages.So in real terms there have been three time the planet has been hot and two time Frozen. So maybe it is natural for the planet to go through this cycle again. The big Question is with all the dammage mankind has done to the Planet what makes you think that we have the right to survive Exctintion.

You know minoritised communities around the globe are affected by this issue hugely. They’re hugely impacted by these issues around climate and the environment, largely caused by the west and they’re then told by people like Prince William that it’s them that is the problem having too many kids etc.

People also fail to acknowledge that our refusal to act in these issues are having really horrible consequences for minorities communities and communities in the global south.

The agenda of global warming is used to the advantage of people in power.. the very same people that stopped the progression of electric cars years ago because they wanted to make billions on oil.. now the world is warming up they want to push electric cars and tell us it's our fault the world is warming up.. they want to end cash and have the digital banking system in place .. right now you have freedom to access your cash and get in your petrol car and do as you please.. imagine if your car only operated during certain hours of the day.. and you couldn't pay for anything if your electric payments were capped.. freedom lost.. if we are to blame for global warming are we to blame for the ice age as well when the world cools down

I am a Health Scientist, my job is understanding the health impacts that humans have on this world and try and combat it. Chem trails are not a government form of mind control or way to make us sick, it is the vapor trail that Jet combustion engines leave at high altitude.

We create things that do not naturally appear in nature. Plastic is a creation that creates toxic gasses that did not exist prior to the creation or plastic. Aluminium is an alloy created by melding two metals together, we created it and every negative process that is created because we created it.

We have more people living on the earth now than ever before and we all need energy to live. That energy creates a chemical reaction that has both a positive and a negative effect. Burn coal or oil you get heat which is great and then you release carbon into the atmosphere which is bad.

Yes, we had two ice ages, these are not like Christmas they don't just pop along on the 5th or June every 545676 billion years. Our planet is the hottest it has been since our evolution. But if it makes you feel better the sun will probably explode before the next ice age.

Also it's a contrail not a chem trails. Cloud seeding adds silver iodine to the atmosphere which unless you drink 20litres of it you probably won't die.

Cloud seeding is a thing. But it isn't anything to do with climate change other than some countries attempts to deal with droughts.

But contrails are not what that is, contrails are condensation from aeroplans. And to answer why some are seen as detached and some are seen for longer is because of the altitude in which a plane flies, higher the altitude more the vapour freezes and takes longer to disperse. Condensation that is lower altitude is warmed by heat rising from the earth.

Silver Iodine is a salt, they don't use sea water, go to round-the-clock cloud seeding project and find where it says they put sea water in the sky...

The article you used says salt because if it said AGL or Silver Iodine people would be thinking its something dangerous.

We are a tiny part of the emissions issue. China dwarves ANY efforts we make with electric cars, solar, wind. They build TWO new coal-fired power stations EVERY WEEK.

If we went Net Zero tomorrow, which will cost us billions, we would make 1 tenth of 1 half-percent difference.

53% of all emissions - China, India, USA. Us? Less than 1%.

We're being scaremongered to death over it.

Well I get constant grief from people about how investing in my solar panels is a bad thing and that I should be ashamed of doing it.

I could have invested my 10K in BP or Shell and got a similar return or glued myself to the road or marched very slowly somewhere or other.

It would seem you can't do right for doing wrong. I have very little faith in mankind solving this problem.

Interesting that you only think governments are greedy and corrupt. What about other areas? Business? Health care? Where money is involved anything is possible if you pay enough.

Are the multiple studies you mention just made up ? Are they peer reviewed? Can you provide links to any peer reviewed studies that back up what you are claiming ?

I remember since I was young that we were always taught to question science. It was never absolute.

Now it seems science cannot be questioned and we must just believe what we are told (by our corrupt governments)

I do agree with you that something needs to be done. The trouble is we all shirk our responsibilities when infact there is something you could possibly do.

If you have some spare cash and let's face it, a lot of us do and can afford 8 to a dozen solar panels and a battery and have a roof in a South east to south west orientation with no shading, then just do it. I was skeptical but downsized and did it when I moved to a house with a more favourable roof. I can assure you the money it makes will pay back the capital in 5 to 7 years. It's an absolute cert.

3000 people are learning the benefits every week. I was astonished how small it's made my energy bills. The other big benefit is KWH by KWH we are lowering the UKs energy dependency on fossil fuels and. I know it's never going to be a substitute for baseload but it's been a no brainer for me. Just do it if you have some dosh to invest.

No wonder this country is in a mess, wind down production of everything so that we can say we’re net zero, and then import it from all over the world at a greater cost both financially and environmentally.

Do I think the world is warming up? Yes.

Is it a natural process? Yes. Is it being accelerated by humans? Also yes.

The Western World can do all it can to reduce its carbon foot print, but Solar/Wind/Hydro can’t do it alone. We need to go Nuclear, and we need to do what France has done and build plants.

Also, countries like China, India, Pakistan etc aren’t going to give a fig about Global Warming whilst they’re climbing themselves out of abject poverty, regardless of what we do here in the western hemisphere.

Yes Jesus/Truth loves them, but Jesus/Truth already died for them. And most people still reject Him/Truth... Most don't seek It and actively work to destroy anyone and everything that whispers even a mention of it.

How can someone be 'saved' it they won't accept the truth. Only the truth can save them. Their ignorance, evil, stupidity, madness and shunning of the truth is destroying them.

1) The earth is not getting warmer.

2) The earth is getting warmer, but its a natural circle nothing to do with human.

3) Humans might have contributed to it. But its not a crisis.

4) It might be a crisis. But it pointless wasting this money when China, India and USA keep burning coal.

"The weather has been controlled for years. Anyone who doesn't know this must be thicker than Piers' Morgans' fat evil pudding gut.

It has indeed .. chemtrails used to be a conspiracy now governments have admitted they are doing it and again using the agenda of global warming

Saying they are trying to reduce the suns rays but all they are doing is making us sick

Cite your sources please about government using chem trails.

Eh? Do you live in a cave? There are even mainstream songs written about chemtrails lol!"
