The 'two female characters interacting meme' is a pretty funny one.

10 seconds in 12 hours of films

Star Trek is very diverse.

Star Trek is almost like Star Wars.

Almost.

Diversity?

Elves, hobbies, orks, goblins, trolls, dwarfs, Men, at least two women, a giant spider and some inexplicably giant Eagles. If anything I would argue the most diverse film.

2 women? How many queer characters? Not bad. But room for improvement

Have to ask, did Sean Bean die in it? Read somewhere he has the most on screen deaths.

No he is the Lord of the rings, in the End he kicks a tower over with a big eye and Flys away on a giant Eagle. It's mad!

Cap d’Agde, France

As a kid the book was a natural progression from the Narnian stories that first got me into reading.

I loved the vision, the archaic language and I was completely immersed whilst reading in this imaginary world.

The film told the story but lacked the romance, somewhat empty, a lack of depth with cardboards characters and constant battle and killing scenes.

A difficult book to visualise no doubt and Jackson’s effort is admirable but really not a patch on the book which is a 20th c. masterwork.

He only didn’t die in The Full Monty because he wasn’t in it.

Sagittarius A

Read the books as a kid, I read a lot back then. My absolute favourites.

The films are great, but it's not really possible to capture the magic of the books. Watching them with my daughters through the years has been a real joy.
