I caught myself being crushed against the front door of my house by my own car as it ran away whilst being recovered onto a low loader. Does that count ? It was certainly naughty of the tow truck driver not to check the equipment he was using

I have a Google NEST doorbell. It's very good, the resolution is great and it works perfectly fine.

The only naughty thing it captured was someone stealing a parcel from my doorstep.

Battery ones are frustrating but serve a purpose well enough. Need to limit it's triggers to save battery power.

eufy Sharing encryption video to everyone

amazon Shut a full smart home down because off a standerd greeting that literally probramed in to they doorbells delivery driver thought it was being rasist and reported the owner

Resulting in amazon shuting off access to the full smart home

Horror story after horror stories with these things

I don't know about the case but it's fair to say people stick cameras all ovet the place disregarding neighbours's right to privacy. Few years back at a different house my neighbour oposite had 4 cameras over garage and front. The way they pointed captured the street but also my front garden all the way to the front door. I asked them to reposition them but they did not so wrote them a polite letter asking them to do so within 7 days or will take further action. The following day it was done and they came over to apologise

Did you read the full thing? I have and I'm not concerned. The guy in that case was a dick and it was the harassment that attracted the damages. Mine only covers my own property plus there is police evidence to back up it's for my own safety.

I don't know about the case but I would asdume that any cameras that capture just your own property be no problem? The are people though that don't respect the privacy of neighbours and that os definately wrong. O personally don't like dash cams either no matter what people say. In some countries there are illegal and I think that includes Austria and Portugal and few othets.

I know about the privacy thing, mines blacked out neighbours windows.

I know they get nicked, I've got that sorted.

Pretty much everything leaks data or has a data breach these days.

I guess I wondered if anyone had flashed people or been flashed lol.

Maybe that there is a picture challenge for someone

Yes I have. Of course, being an English court decision, slightly less relevant to people in Scotland - still could be persuasive to a Scots court. Not only was he a dick, but recording audio was deemed to be excessive.

To go to the OPs query something naughty would almost certainly be 'special category data' ie data concerning a person’s sex life and subject to stricter data protections.

I understand that you can use 'masking' on the camera app to ensure it only captures up to the perimeter of your house. Not sure if all cams/apps do that
