All over

Two lots of bread failing to rise. Usual recipe so quite surprised. I checked the yeast and still in date so not sure what the issue is. Any members of the WI (or other equaly accomplished bakers) can give some light on this mystery please

Water too hot? Leave it to prove uncovered, so it got a bit dry on the outside?

Have you tried gently rubbing the side of the baking tin, whispering how much you want it in your mouth?

Have you been careful to keep the salt away from the yeast?

"Water too hot? Leave it to prove uncovered, so it got a bit dry on the outside? "

Is leaving it uncovered a suggestion or a reason?

It's probably the temperature have you got a proving setting on your oven? Failing that it could just be bad yeast.

Get a bread maker, chuck it in, add water, press start, job done

I'd be trying a different yeast.

Maybe its environment but I'd first suspect the yeast

My usual for this particular bread, mix of white and wholemeal. I do think might be the yeast and possibly a daft batch.

Get new yeast. Yeast is temperamental and if it's a bit fed up it just won't work
