So I'm very excited to be going on a cruise next year with my bestie.

I'm a bit concerned that we will be the youngest on the ship!

Also that according to the Facebook group, everyone is a swinger

Has anyone been? What are the top tips for first time cruises?

And no I won't be buying am upside down pineapple towel clip!

We went on the Caribbean cruise years ago and loved every second. We weren't swinging then so I didn't notice anything of that nature but I'm sure there was!

You're going to love it though, it's amazing. I'm very very jealous

That's reassuring to hear, I was starting to worry it would be like fab on the sea!!

We can't wait, chosen a junior suite so we have sunbeds on our own balcony. March can't come quick enough.

We were hoping people would still get quite dressed up in the evenings but now we worry we might be the odd ones out if we do! Our photos will look awesome though

Yes, they do!! Especially when going for meals etc. We loved getting dressed up . I'm not sure what I'd recommend though.. We're light packers as it is so don't ever really take things we don't need

A tip though.. We used to take fruit salads, jelly etc back to the room so we could have something to eat first thing so we didn't need to rush out the room

We have booked a week in Barbados after the cruise so plenty packing to be done.

We love dressing up too. Plus I'm now on slimming world so it's gotta be worth it for the clothes.

That's a good tip. Thanks

I did a cruise round the med and not quite 30 when we went, so definitely not too old.

Dress up and live it up, you honestly won't be out of place or the only ones to do so! Dependant on the ship, you would feel more out of place not dressing up for at least dinner.

Swinging was never a consideration with me ex and never noticed any others whilst we there... though I spent most of the evenings out with my then sister in law, working our way through the cocktails but still no swinging.

It's a holiday like no other though and absolutely sure you'll love it. Enjoy I am more than a little jealous

MsWyld I used to work at sea. I did the Caribbean season a few times and you’ll have a blast! Got loads of top tips for the ports you visit etc.

It depends which ship you’re going on but I would say you are likely to be one of the youngest

There were a lot of shenanigans but mostly between the crew and passengers.

Took us a week to work through all of them... though some we were partaking of more than the once.

If you can... try and take your own bottled water back to your room, you'll probably need it and that in the mini fridge isn't cheap!

Oh wow that's awesome! I apologise now if I ask too many questions!

We start in Barbados and are doing St Lucia, Grenada, Bonaire,Curaçao Island, Aruba and back to Barbados. We are on Mariella.

We aren't adverse to some shenanigans

Oh St Lucia was my favourite port there’s a little restaurant on a pretty secluded beach (will have to look it up) that served the most amazing coconut shrimp and banana ketchup!

Barbados was a party stop, we went to Boatyard which is an all day beach bar that sounds a siren on the hour every hour, so make sure you’re at the bar as you get bottles of spirits poured down your throat for a few minute

There’s also great water sports there (vanilla ones )

I’ll have to look through some photos and see what I can remember.

If it’s shenanigans you’re after I would say get friendly with the entertainment crew. They used to bring random passengers down to the crew parties below deck. It was pretty wild

Also if you like rum, Mount Gay is so cheap out there!

This is giving me all the fomo! I may have to polish off my crew uniform and ask for a job on your ship

Love the Caribbean. Went on a cruise once a few years ago when I was 19. But the people certainly weren’t young and they weren’t swingers so I think it’s different to yours

All of that sounds awesome, well maybe not banana ketchup!

Working on a cruise ship or as a holiday rep was always a dream for me when I was younger. Now I'm probably too old!

Well you are doing some of the best Caribbean islands imo. Loved curaçao and Barbados & St Lucia probably have the most things to see & do

I love sailing. I actually thought about going on the proper yacht master training at one point.

No longer have anyone in my life with a boat though.
