Paranormal activity. I was so looking forward to this film after watching and hearing all the hype on it. I love a real scary film and to say I was disappointed at this is an understatement. It was all the hype and the so-called nomination for "movie of the year", went to see it and I thought it was awful.

Same as 50 Shades, really, all that hype and it turns out to be boring, completely lacking in imagination and a major disappointment...

But that all depends on the individual, i.e: I LOVE Titanic. x

Did you know that 50 Shades was originally written as a 'Twilight' fan-fiction? It was rewritten because the author discovered she wouldn't get it published because of copyright laws.

Ok, here we go:

The Dark Knight Rises. Overly long, boring, Banes voice sounded like vader.

Titanic: Boring Hollywood shite

Cloverfield: Really didn't get why this was a big deal. The characters were annoying too.

Seven Psychopaths: Oh Colin farell, that film was snatched from you by Walken.

Prometheus: Aliens come visit us when we're still in caves, give us a map they expect us to follow. Fast forward to 2089 and we drop into their WMD facility.Yeah, highly unlikely.

Superman films: They're so bad they're laughable

Saw films: Again, they're so bad I find them funny.

In fact I'm gonna say most recent Hollywood horrors. Same old colour by numbers, faux scares then the "scare" after? Pft. Lame.

Shawshank Redemption.

I don't think I've ever seen such a blatant disregard for anything resembling originality ...and then to be being passed off as unique and inspiring...and for people fall for it? I've seen some mediochre films and completely forgiven them because ultimately...they know what they are. I cannot forgive the Shawshank Redemption for taking every cliche in the book and pretending to be 'important'

I say everytime... and I'll say it again.

Fareham

Prometheus - I went into the cinema with high expectations and walked out extremely disappointed. More holes in the plot than a pair of crochet pants.

Super 8 - ET meets the Goonies ala Spielberg. Total pile of crap.

Mad Mike - what a load of boring tosh. They say all dialogue in a decent story should have a purpose - I'm still struggling to think what purpose ANY of that sh*te had. And the background noise was as loud as the dialogue ... maybe it was designed to make it more realistic - all it did was annoy the hell out of me because I couldn't hear half of what they were saying (not that it made any difference to the non existent plot). There wasn't even any decent eye candy to compensate for the piss-poor storyline.

The Bourne Legacy. Let's not even go there! That was £20+ and two hours wasted.

I really love that movie, but I also sat through Top Gun last night and enjoyed that too so one could reasonably argue I'm not a particularly good judge!!

Top Gun-the story of one mans struggle with his sexuality.

Well you can see why it has entertained gay men for almost 3 decades! All those oiled torso's and over sized aviators!"

Bet the volleyball scene was rewound quite a lot.

Couldn't agree more. It's been top of the Imbd 250 for years and I just don't get it. Reasonable acting, but back of a fag packet plot.

The usual suspects.. not wholly undeserving of the critical praise as it wasn't an awful film - but like the Francis ford coppola gangster films.. over rated!

Two that were the 'in' film to see in their day, which I now cringe at the thought that I spent good money going to see...

Top Gun - Total and utter mid 80's shite AND... Kelly McGillis doesn't even get her tits out like she did in Witness.

And.....

Dead Poets Society - Completely pretentious bollocks! Seize the day? I'd like to seize Robin Effing Williams and chuck the little twat off a cliff!!!

(I do feel better for getting that off my chest now........ )

I agree - over 1500 people died, but Hollywood has to invent a tragedy? Sheesh. Give me 'A Night To Remember' anytime."

That was the exact statement from my mother when I took her to see it.

'I preferred Kenneth Moore, he seemed more real...'

My vote btw - The Village. There's two hours of my life I'll never get back!

Now I've read another thread this morning about some couple who don't want to see people on here who have an age gap in their profile and this I thought had made my blood boils sufficiently.

But this? You deserve to be sin binned for such a reckless statement.

I wasn't impressed with the latest Spiderman film either - Always good to see Stan Lee in them though... Apart from that, the film was a snore-fest.

Skyfall made me fall asleep as well...

I dunno whats going on but we're all paying more and more to see films that are less and less exciting.

I've got a feeling the latest Die Hard one due out this year will be a flop as will Fast and Furious 6.

Ones that could be a winner will be:

World War Z

After Earth

Dark Skies

Monsters University

Carrie - 2013 remake

Thats just my choice anyhoooo....

The Hobbit was boring in my opinion and how they are gonna make it into 3 films is beyond me !!

Place beyond the pines

Star Trek into darkness

After Earth

And of course ........

KICK ASS 2 !!!!!

"Titanic it was just dire. "
.. and technically inaccurate in a big way. Titanic had four funnels, one of which was solely there for image and did not emit smoke, steam or anything else. In 1912, it was 'de rigeur' in shipping to have a four funnel liner in your fleet, but her boilers only used the first three.

Cameron (the film director and not that smarmy git in No 10) didn't get that right, did he.. he had all four funnels working..

The Wookiees, whose name for themselves translated to the People of the Trees, were a species of hairy bipedal humanoids that were inhabitants of the planet Kashyyyk. One of the most noteworthy members of the species was Chewbacca, Han Solo's best friend and co-pilot, who played a vital role in the Galactic Civil War and afterwards.
