Just don’t know how I will fill my time day after day

Do you have the opportunity to retire? We're obviously much older than you but have been retired since we were 57. If you're worried about filling your time I'd say don't retire. Time isn't something to be filled in my opinion, it provides you with the opportunity to do all the things you want to. If you don't have things you want to do you'll be bored.

yes we do have the opportunity to retire, but we just think there is only so much you can do once you’re retired and so many places you can go or do we just try something new

You're lucky you can even consider it at your age tbh.

I think if you have doubts you're probably not ready but you could always have a few years off and uf you get bored find something part time.

When I told people I was retiring almost all of them said "but what will you do all day?"

I've always been a work to live kind if person and had many interests outside of my job that I never had time to fully get involved in. What I do all day is live how I dreamed of living when I was on the treadmill of work, eat, sleep, repeat.

If that's not for you, look for something else to get involved in

I wouldn’t say we are lucky. We have worked very hard to get where we are due to the current interest rates on savings it has made it even easier to retire.

Let me guess, the harder and longer you worked, the luckier you got?

We're both what we call "partially retired" and to be honest, our days are fuller now than when we worked. We've got time to do lots of stuff and time to do lots of nothing. We do a lot of day-trips, or short over-nighters and have been to places a lot of people never see because they're in too much of a hurry. Enjoy your life

Winter might b bit slow but spring/summer/autumn will b awesome! I have 16 shifts left and I'm done! My working life b over ! So looking forward to it! I've done my time! X
