Used to. NHS doesn't want my blood anymore

(The gripping required cause me pain and although I have no evidence this does any damage, they slapped me with a lifetime ban )

I do.

Been doing it for about 20 years. Over 200 donations - platelets rather than whole blood so I try to go once a month. Next one is on Wednesday evening.

I used to be a regular donor but after having a huge transfusion years ago no longer allowed to otherwise would be still doing so

?

I used to. There used to be a blood donor truck that would come to my then place of work every so often. Then it stopped. Lack of funding I presume as there were always people in there donating for the whole time it was parked up.

I suppose it's just inconvenience/laziness that causes me to not go into a centre and donate now. I probably should make the effort.

Exactly the same for me. I should start again though.

Yes we both did, Mr still does and is up to about 30 now but I can't get to the required iron levels anymore even though I take iron tablets.

I finally have! So happy I did. So proud of myself for not spending the time wanking instead. :D

I've already booked my next appointment. And then I'm going to take a break and get the piercing I want as an early Christmas present to myself.

Nice one well done, such a simple thing to do that could save a life.

Yes, it really is. I was going through my emails and voicenoting a dear friend and then I saw an ad about it. Specifically targeting people of colour. And I thought fuck it. I could go to bed and fap myself silly or actually do something worthwhile with my time. I chose the latter. Really happy I did now I know my blood type.

I tried to. But when I forewarned them that I'm prone to fainting at needles and blood, they refused to take it

I used to donate; about 30 in the end, but I can't do so now, for medical reasons.

Thank you to everyone who does

I’ve donated 46 times so far. Last couple of times my hB was too low though. Such a selfless gesture and saves so many lives… and not just those that need transfusions.

Tried to get over my fear of needles and did it once but went into shock as soon as they took the needle back out once they were done. Ended up getting driven home by a nurse. Have decided not to repeat the experience.
