Probably a bit extreme, but went to the gym earlier, realised I didn't have headphones so turned around and left

Can't do it without

Matt

I've never worn headphones or listened to my own music in the gym.

Mentally, when I'm at the gym Im their to train not listen to music as my brain is programmed for the routine...

But did you then go back and get it done?

For me the annoyance at missing a planned workout would be greater than the annoyance of missing my headphones...

Seems a tad extreme… maybe you didn’t really want to workout so used it as an excuse…. Those are the workouts we just need to grind out

While I wouldn’t go by as far as leaving haha I understand the feeling when trained at the leisure centre and they had Adele or one of the radio stations that talk shit for 20 minutes between each song it was fucking horrendous

Gym at now plays decent music 99% of the time it really does make a difference just this Thursday night was leg day was really tired and couldn’t be bothered then when walked in gym music was thumping looked around seen everyone training and suddenly couldn’t wait to get cracking

Everyone is built different.

I need to bloke out the other noises to get into the right head space, almost like a protective bubble

I personally don't want headphones on in the gym. Though I do like the music they play.

I actually leave my phone outside the gym. I don't want the distraction.

I might be the only person who actually likes the music the gym plays...although the playlist doesn't seem to ever change

That's one of the annoying parts about it, besides someone shuffling through their playlist hogging the equipment

Find a lot of people at gyms seem to spend more time looking at their phones than actually exercising. But I guess that everywhere whether a gym, shops and restaurants. Fast becoming a zombie society.

Saw a couple out walking with their child on a pram. Both walked a couple of hundred metres staring at their screens.

I too notice how much people spend on their phones. People on holiday looking through their phone instead of using their eyes is one I don't get
