We were discussing whether there was more or less child abuse nowadays, and one of my arguments was what was seen as acceptable, actually not that long ago, isn't acceptable now. For example, someone getting 'the slipper' for saying something cheeky was acceptable then, but is now abuse. Obviously more serious forms of abuse were serious then and are serious now, but I think with the internet and other technology, it's easier for children to be abused, therefore I'd say more are in that way now. Sorry to darken the mood but this thread got me thinking about it. Apologies too if it's on the banned list for the forums! | |||
