Our eyes met across Aldi checkouts

When you see someone you've played with at a club in normal life.

I know it's a small world but I recognised her as the female half of a couple we'd played with, and her expression and coy smile gave away that she had recognised me (male half). I know this won't be a first but it's a very strange experience. We didn't chat and left at different times. I have told the wife by the way.

I crossed paths with someone I met once out with her family in Wokingham a few years ago.

A very swift glance and a little discreet smile and that was that, although we did message each other later

Yesterday I was at the Ferry boat in Tottenham with friends from work when a Fab FB walked in on a works do. We both ignored each other. Shame as they have a decent baby change toilet ;-p

It happens...More common than people realize.

Some people keep their sex life and personal live private but I don't really.

My problem is that I don't always recognise people and they get offended at that. Nothing I can do about it because my brain is neurodivergent and regularly scrubs faces ( and names)from my mind.

They actually have to tell me where they know me from and that triggers my brain. Them just saying hello doesn't work for me..and often is met with a confused look. I don't get a lot of social cues either.

Crikey... we have all sorts in our Aldi's and lidl. My local Lidl is next to the Waitrose and it's not uncommon to see Waitrose bags in the Lidl and Lidl bags in the Waitrose. Lol!

I like Lidl's prices but I like Waitrose non-alcoholic cider/wine and fizz and canned artichokes.

Maybe it's a London thing...we all need to save money where we can get it so there is no supermarket loyalty really.

I was standing in the queue at Lidl with a gay colleague.

He told me he'd had a recent encounter with the young lad on the till.

When the lad saw my colleague he put his, "sorry, checkout closed" notice on the conveyor belt and was off in a flash!
