If you've got something going on in life that makes you sad or depressed how does it affect you?

Personally I still go to the gym still train still work happy or sad ..chasing happiness is destructive.. discipline will serve you much greater

I’m one of those that looks and acts happy know matter what. I go to the gym, laugh and joke at work and people would always assume I’m fine. My wife is the only person who can really tell when I’m not myself.

I'm at my best when I'm stressed/angry/annoyed, makes me more determined than ever to do what I need to do.

If I'm sad I just cry in the shower and I'm good.

Happiness does not work well for me, I just eat.

Couldn’t agree more! I think as long as you keep your goals at the front of your mind, along with the priorities in your life, happiness will find you

A lot of people hid there feelings it’s like wearing a mask showing their good side, happy, confidence funny, chatty and they don’t want people to see what is really going on behind it,

It’s probably the thing I’m worst at tbh , I ad ire people like you that can continue to train and keep things going when in emotional turmoil.

How do you do it ?

I remember once after a break up I had no appetite so couldn’t eat or train. I couldn’t even get out of bed and to work without throwing up a couple of times!

How is "chasing happiness" destructive? Bemused by this.

.

I try not to but... I'm quite a feelings based sort of woman. I feel things intensely. If I'm excited, if I'm sad. I'm very much a feel it or don't feel anything woman. So yes, it does affect my appetite. I don't really eat much which is great for my weight loss kick.

I'm more likely to go to the gym when I've got excess energy because of it, which is good because I can work out some of those emotions.

I've never been one of those who hides under the duvet and waits for things to pass - I try and channel it productively. In my mind at least. If I'm drained because of them then I'll hibernate and do low energy activities. I normally find within a day or so I'm back to me.
