Manchester-ish

I steal the little sachets from hotel breakfast buffets and use them when I'm making roast potatoes.

Yeast extract mostly. It's very similar to Marmite, but it's what you're used to. Vegemite also has a texture closer to softened chocolate, whereas Marmite's texture coming out of the jar is more like honey.

A teaspoon of Marmite in the oil that you fry mushrooms with has always been a winner for me

The creme de la creme though is adding it to a Knorr Stockpot when slow cooking a beef brisket......................the result is to die for mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Make a homemade vegetable stock from leftovers, garlic, chillis and peppercorns then add Marmite to that?

It's gonna make any risotto bangin'
