Dangerous Cats

Dogs get a bad press but what about Cats I got clawed in the goolies by me Mums cat when he decided to make a nest on me lap then jumped at a loud noise on the TV...They came up like a pair of water melons...Anyone else had a pussy related incident..?

Mine is a real sweetie, only ever swipes at the pooch when he gets too close to her, that's all!

She is purring next to be feet right now, bless!

My brother was hospitalised years agao when he walked into a porch to drop a parcel off.. the cat must have been startled as it just went loopy and buried a claw in his chest... he had to have surgery to recover the lost claw.

My cat is a cantankerous pain in the arse. He spends 90% of his time asleep, and will only acknowledge my existence when he wants food - after he's been fed he'll either go back to sleep or just ignore me completely.

He's mostly a danger to himself though. During the summer months he thought it would be clever to visit a neighbour's house which was for sale. The house had been empty for a few weeks as the previous owner had moved out, so the estate agent was showing people round (for some reason, estate agents in Swindon normally seem to think it acceptable to have the current owners do the guided visits instead of the estate agents.... it's not as if it's their job, and I bet they don't reduce their fees accordingly!).

Anyway, the cat went for a nose around the house one day, without the estate agent realising he'd slipped inside. The stupid animal was stuck in there for 5 days before we found him... we'd been trawling the neighbourhood looking for him, thinking he'd done a runner, but didn't think to look in an empty house.

The estate agent didn't want to come round at 9pm on a Friday evening to release him... that was until I said I'd been in touch with the police, who were quite prepared to smash a window and charge the estate agent to get the window boarded up again afterwards

However, that wasn't the end of it... he then managed to get back in the same house a week later. We then discovered that the previous owners had locked the cat flap so that nothing could get out, but hadn't thought to block it so that nothing could get in.

Needless to say, I wasn't very popular with the estate agent.

Luckily, he's not harmed me in any way - or else there'd be trouble. The closest he's got is when he insists on being a slalom skier when I'm going down the stairs, and runs in between my legs. One of these days he'll time it all wrong and we'll both take a tumble... I reckon he'll come off worse if I land on top of him, mind you!

NOOOOOOOOO, declawing a cat is CRUEL!!!

How do you feel if you get the first section of your fingers chopped off for no reason except to protect the frigging furniture and to deprive yourself your first line of defence???!!!

Don't declaw cats, PLEASE!!!

Besides, it is illegal in this country, so there!
