It depends on so many things (I’m talking travelling generally, not Thailand specifically) like are you used to booking things online as it can be a bit of a minefield and you run the risk of being scammed if you don’t know the red flags to look out for. Are you on a tight budget or do you have plenty to spend because going through a travel agent is a lot easier and safer but more expensive…is it a safe city you’re travelling to as getting a taxi from the airport to your hotel is the most convenient way but it can be dangerous in some places, especially if you’re travelling alone, I know someone who got a taxi from JFK airport on his own and the driver took him to a quiet area and mugged him…welcome to New York haha….taxis are more expensive as well so again depends on budget…also, are you the sort of person who likes to have everything well planned and organised beforehand or do you enjoy the freedom of not having a plan and just seeing what happens? I’ve traveled alone a lot and most of the time i only pre plan what I need to (flights, hotel) and then I just see what happens when I get there because I think it’s more exciting that way.

Maybe if you reply with the answers to those questions we will be able to advise you better.

Ha I think we all know what's happening here. Just get a direct flight to Bangkok and then a taxi to Pattaya... you can pick up everything else you need there

Can’t a man plan to go to Thailand to get his rod out and dip it in something wet without being accused of going just for sex…

It’s a beautiful country so I hope you enjoy the break my friend!

Whilst I appreciate you’re going for the fishing, any single male heading to Pattaya is bound to also be *tempted* by the liberal sex on offer tbf so go careful, look after yourself and play safe! And lock your valuables securely in the safe before accepting any ‘long time’ proposals!

Have fun!

it depends on which type of fishing you are after? sea fishing is poor and a waste of time.there are various fishing parks which tend to be over stocked so very easy to catch, there are some more professional waters where you can land monsters but these tend to be out of the way and expensive

I dont use agents , you may save a little bit run the risk if losing your money as they often fail and take prepayment. Larger agents ate expensive

For Thailand tourist areas I’d just use Skyscanner and Booking dot com.

For more adventurous places like small islands and the golden triangle I’d just turn up.

You can get comfortable internal transport from Agents on Ko San Rd or public transport at Ekamai station depends how much you wanna pay.

Sone of the best backpacker huts are off grid and have to be booked direct but there’s travel forums that name and maps in the bars

The visa that you fill out on the flight will ask for your hotel and address. So my advice is just book a hotel for a few days before you go. It’s also useful just to have a place to lay your head when you get there.

Once in the country you can find endless hotels wherever you stay.

I booked via online apps and never had a problem, it’s winter currently so it’s cheaper now to go over but later in the year it’ll get more expensive.

Enjoy it’s a great country, the land of smiles

Still exploited though and usually trafficked from rural areas

I always book flights direct through Thai Airways, a room stay in for the 1st 2 nights through Booking.com and then just wing it once I'm there
